GameDay Open Thread USC vs. Arizona

Arizona Wildcats at USC Trojans, Jan 8, 2012 2:30 PM PST

Not sure what to expect today. If USC lost to a undermanned ASU team on Thursday, how will they fare against a much better Arizona team?

Patience is wearing thin with Kevin O'Neiil.

Much of the fan base has lost interest because of this teams poor performance. You can't blame it all on injuries, other message board mods are no starting to question O'Neill's future. Those of you who actually attend game at Galen can't be happy with the product...a prodcut so bad that it isn't even shown outside of the western timezone, if that much.

Here are some previews from the Arizona side of things...

- Arizona Wildcats seek weekend split against USC Trojans

- Seriously, it's a must-win for the Arizona Wildcats against the USC Trojans

FIGHT ON!

You got it dead on. Injuries are not a sufficient excuse for a 5-11 record

Even if Jio Fontan had been ready to go from the start of the season, I still only see the record improving to 8-8 at best.

I’m only planning to go to two MBB games for the rest of the year: the UCLA game, simply because it’s the bruins and I’m going to all the crosstown games even if the matchups aren’t in our favor, and the Colorado game, because I was invited to a pre-game party. Beyond that, I see no reason to watch Coach KO scream at his players.

No----NO guys the Canadian Bar Fly is the future

Yes we can't play in a Bowl and that is lucky for the rest of College FB' but next year we at USC will dominate.

behind by 20 at the half really puts the team in a hole.....

The best thing I can say about the game and being at Galen…. was getting a USC Football T-shirts USC 50 UCLA 0 and a South Champs one too….

I am wondering if SC will win a game in conference…. when the team looks lie they don’t know they are playing a game or with whom for first half in almost every game….. it has the be the coach not getting them ready.

I feel bad for KO

He voluntarily stepped into a really bad situation, and for that I commend him.

At the same time, the team has visibly regressed during his tenure. Unless he turns something around soon, I can’t see him staying on past this season.

Oh no not another loss----

How can we lose with Kevin O at the helm yelling and screaming at everyone and anything that moves. Haden should sign him for the next 30 years, USC would be the only team to lose 1000 games in a row.

No Aaron Fuller today, apparently both shoulders are injured.

I can't believe KO missed all of those shots

He needs to stay after practice and work on his jumper.

A Quick Note for the Quitters
No comment from this thread will be deleted. You will have to own them when we get it turned around and beat Southern Cal. You will never ride the bandwagon when we come back. Not on BN. GO BRUINS.

If he can't put his players in a position to succeed

We need someone who can.

Whether or not it is all KO's fault

Or whether he was dealt a very bad hand, if we go winless in conference play (possible, but unlikely) or win maybe three or four games (probable), I can’t see Haden keeping O’Neill despite his desire for stability and patience within the program.

When over half the fans at your brand new, 50% empty, multi-million dollar arena are rooting for the other team, your program has cratered. At that point, coaches have to go.

Anyone ever notice the inverse relationship of USC's football vs. basketball from yr to yr?

Usually when our football team has a down year, the basketball team is better than usual. Maybe I notice this since the two programs rarely have success in the same year.

You must have missed the past 6 or so years

We’ve been to the NCAA tournament 4 of the last 5 years (every one we were eligible) to go along with Pete’s amazing run. Nick Young, OJ Mayo, Taj Gibson, and Demar Derozan were all 1st round draft picks. We won the Pac-10 tourney for the first time ever 3 years ago with Demar’s squad.

The fact that it seems so far away is testament to how we perceive the program with KO in charge.
