DB/ATH Kevon Seymour commits to USC

PrintUSC just received its 12th verbal commit at the Army All-American game from Kevon Seymour, a defensive back from Muir High School in Pasadena. He's 6'1", 175 lbs., and ranked #19 prospect in California by ESPN. He is the 6th local to commit to SC, and he's listed as an ATH with experience at QB, RB, and DE.
WeAreSC listed him as one of the top 5 most important recruiting targets for the team this year, so this is a big acquisition. Good job by Kennedy Polamalu to get him.

He is a bit of a diva
But the emphasis an CB’s is encouraging.
College Football, is following the NFL and becoming a passing/spread game (with the notable exception of the Big Ten remainig as a power running game league (which, is due to perhpas to weather and talent base — think big farm boys and Wisconsin’s and Iowa’s O-lines).
PC, under Brendan, for some reason didn’t put a huge emphasis and the secondary. He liked the Bing/Mays/McDonald model — play zone and take away the middle of the field by having a huge, fast specimen play 20 years down field ready to tee off and anyone foolsih enough to go over the middle.
It’s maybe why TJ came back for another year. He needs to improve his cover skills for be a top draft choice. Taylor Mays type safeties are destined to be lower round, value and special teams draft picks.
