Some choice quotes from "anonymous Jets players" in the NY Daily News

"We have to bring in another quarterback that will make [Sanchez] work at practice. He's lazy and content because he knows he's not going to be benched."

""So many games, he looked defeated before he ever took the field. He didn't have much confidence in what he was about to go do. You could tell throughout the week in practice. He never felt comfortable with some of the things we were doing. It was too much for him."

Another one from former Jets QB Boomer Esiason:

"If you watched Mark Sanchez the last month of the season, he was like a chihuahua standing on Madison Avenue and 36th Street entering the Midtown Tunnel, eyes bigger than you-know-what, and just so shaky."

It looks like Sanchez's job security is in jeopardy, though he hasn't lost all support in the locker room. Here's a tweet from C Nick Mangold:

"If 'unnamed sources' want to attack Mark, man up and put your name to it,"

Basically it was the OC that set-up Mark for fail----

They have replaced him and we shall see if it was Mark, whoever is saying stuff behind the whole teams back is a worthless individual. Is Mark lazy I can believe I have ever heard that statement before about him since he played HS, that team has some internal problems that have to change. One get rid of #10 and that 4th string QB (bitch from Bama), I am sure they can get a great trade with those whinny little ones.

Yes we can't play in a Bowl and that is lucky for the rest of College FB' but next year we at USC will dominate.

I don't get it.

Mark has accomplished more than 90% of the starting QBs in the League. His numbers, AND achievements are categorically better than Tebows.

Yet one is a living legend after one mediocre season, and the other is the scapegoat for a franchise despite 2 AFC championship game appearances in 3 years.

I just don’t get the NFL.

That's what I've been hearing from Sanchez supporters...

along with the belief that Schottenheimer’s offense wasn’t working for Sanchez.

Let’s hope that Sparano comes with a better scheme and that Ryan tones down the promises and pressure a bit.

Rex Ryan: Fat F*ck #2

Well... yeah. Perhaps I should call him Fat F*ck Up? One thing is sure, he'll be out on his ass just like his old man.

I don't get why they want him out

He has one bad year out of 3, and has given them some of their best seasons since Namath.

They’re either really entitled, or I’m missing something.

One of my friends in NY is a jets fan and he all his buddies are blaming Mark, the media is the problem.

I continually tell him that it is the OC and that Mark is young and will get better every year, but I will say that this wasn’t the same. Having watched a few games I noticed that Shot was always calling dumb plays and not establishing the run first which is pretty much paramount in the NFL.

Mark's gotta play better

I’m a big Sanchez supporter, but he seems to have digressed this season. His decision-making is in dire need of improvement. That was the case with Coach Carroll. His trouble lies with his defensive reads. It’s easy to confuse the dude, I’m afraid.

When push comes to shove, defenses KNOW Sanchez will gunsling it and “will the damn” into traffic. He’s got great accuracy, it’s just that he doesn’t have a cannon. He’s left a lot of his receivers short downfield. He can be great in a West Coast-offense scheme, a’la Harbaugh’s 49-ers. Then again, the Jets O-Line needs some improvement. With a banged-up backfield and practically no trust in LT’s running, the O-coordinator put the games in Mark’s arm and field position.

Rex Ryan is loud-mouthed freaky-fuck, . . . . . . .just exactly what the Jet-faithful truly like and want.

The Big Apple ain’t for everyone, Mark Sanchez craves the “stage” and he just has to simply improve in all facets of quarterbacking. Passing, decision-making, game-management, and excelling at gaining positive yards. Too often, he places too much burden on himself with trying to make it to ESPN highlight reels. He needs to learn to play within himself, otherwise- the game of football will never “come to him” and slow down like it does for the best of ’em: like Brees, Brady, Manning, et. al.

I'm wondering if Pete was right all along.

Along from the stellar “beginner’s luck,” I’m wondering if one more year of CFB would’ve helped him more.

by Joe Trojan on Jan 12, 2012 12:33 PM PST reply actions

maybe, but that argument only works in the first year

this is his third year…there should be some marked improvement

Mark backslid some this year…the reasons are numerous, but he should overcome some of these things

Mark gets too much of the blame

He has B team skill support at WR and RB. And, as the article mentioned, he got hit a lot this year behind a deficient Oline.

But, yes, he lost his confidence and made way too many dumb turnovers. Trying to do do much. I think Mark can still be the foundation, but the Jets need an offensive overhaul. I remember Eli Manning having a few terrible seasons early in his career too.

It’s not even close to being all Mark’s fault.

Has he always been viewed as lazy?

Or is that a new development? I was under the impression that he was always in the film room and was a real leader for the team. Anyone?

Hey Rex, we'll take him

Seahawks fan here . . . we have the richest owner in the NFL, our head coach is Pete Carroll, and our QB is Tavaris Jackson . . . you’re right, Mark sucks so bad, but we’ll take a chance on him, call us crazy . . . you can have T Jack, he’s tough like you . . . we’ll throw in Charlie Whitehurst and Zach Miller.

Just post here, Rex, I’ll hook you up with Paul Allen. Let’s get this mutha done.

Plaxico and Santonio were the sources

Those guys are prima donnas, with a “me before the team” attitude. I seriously doubt that the majority of the team feels that way about Mark.
