easily confused....

The announcer at the Coliseum referred to USC as South Carolina twice late in the 4th Q…. so who knows?

Referred to us as SCAR?

The announcer? You mean one of the guys from FX? If so, I missed that. Fortunately.

I once ticked off a SCAR grad — thusly. He asked me where I graduated from, and I replied, “USC.” He then asked, “South Carolina?” I replied, “No, the real USC.” But what really ticked him off was when I followed up with, “South Carolina? Do they even have schools there?” I know, I know… I was being a dick. :-P

At the Coliseum.... no idea about TV.

Yes the game announcer in the Coliseum. The crowd moaned both times it happened. He caught himself the second time or someone did and cut the mic. It was unbelievable.

Ha! The guy is also the announcer for the San Diego Chargers

Maybe he doesn’t have an internal compass, or he spent a little too much time tailgating. I’m a traditionalist, I listen to Mr. How Do You Do.

That's just radical!

I wish I had one extra thumb, so I could give you three thumbs-up!!!

Instead, I give you my personal rec.

“Do they even have schools there?” Duuuuuuuuuude! It’s right next to The Plantation. Matter of fact, it USED TO BE A PLANTATION!!!!

Your comment had me gassin’, my man.

According to the times it was the referee on the field that made the error....
Referee Jeff Maconaghy drew the ire of the crowd when he announced, “Fumble recovered by South Carolina.”

A few minutes later, as officials reviewed the play, Maconaghy nearly repeated the mistake, saying “South Caro” before catching himself.

That didn’t stop fans from booing again.

The play stood as called.

“They’re East Coast refs, so they’re just calling it for the team over there,” said Bailey, whose forced fumble was recovered by linebacker Will Andrew.

Bailey, who also had a sack, said he was eager to atone for a mistake early in the game in which he covered the wrong Syracuse player and the Orange broke off a long gain.
