Defensive tackle Armond Armstead, who sat out spring because of an undisclosed medical condition, practiced on a limited basis and expects to be cleared by the time the season starts. Doctors ruled out Armstead having a heart condition. He said he has one more test to pass and is in the best shape (285 pounds) he has been in since coming to USC.
