You're a day late and a few dollars short Larry

Here is Larry Scott's statement on today's OFFICIAL release of USC's appeal...

"We join the fans, alumni, staff and leadership of USC in being extremely disappointed with today’s decision. I want to state emphatically that our conference is committed to adhering to the highest ethical standards and compliance with NCAA rules. USC’s new leadership has certainly demonstrated this with its handling of the sanctions and by establishing a new culture of compliance for its athletic programs with its win-by-the-rules approach.

"I respect USC’s decision to take the high ground and not pursue any further recourse to the NCAA ruling. At the same time, I fully expect that every NCAA member institution be held to the same high standards. These sanctions, notably the postseason ban, have a devastating effect on current student-athletes, most of whom were in elementary and junior high school at the time of the alleged violations.

"To me, that is a source of great frustration and disappointment. Going forward, we can and need to do better in terms of the enforcement process."

Like I said, you're a little late here Larry...

Makes me sick!

perhaps

although it’s impossible to know what he might or might not have been doing behind the scenes. Better to have a commissioner trying to effectively make things happen than simply grandstand publicly and only serve to annoy the people who are actually making decisions (which, it should be noted, also falls in line with Haden’s approach).

And, as both Scott and many public commentators have noted, at the end of the day it’s going to boil down to whether the NCAA is willing to drop the hammer on all the major offenders (Ohio St, Auburn, UNC, etc.), or whether it’s going to be one big penalty for USC and wristslaps for the rest. And given the seemingly never-ending stream of new info from Columbus, I think it’s VERY difficult to imagine that Ohio St will somehow escape with lesser penalties than USC got. So we shall see fairly soon I think.

MrPacTen a fellow cynic?!

You nailed it MPT, the reason Larry kept his trap shut all this time is because he was told to. Now that the ink has dried on the TV deal we see this sock puppet unleashed? Not really, it’s Phil Knight’s hand inside yapping to get cover for that stinking cesspool of a “program” he runs at Oregon. They’re next.

Everyone needs to wake up and smell the coffee, this is all about restoring Notre Dame, Nebraska and The U to national prominence.

Off topic a little bit, have you seen that ad that Adidas has been running with various soccer players, Katy Perry, and the Notre Dame football team? I don’t mind Leo Messi competing for screen time with Kary Perry’s tits, but I do object to him being put next to a herd of green asses.

Well this ass should have been on it from day one, regardless of who told him what to do.

This f-ing country was basically started by telling the British to get out, where is the manhood of today’s people. USC should have gone independent plain and simple, or shouldn’t have signed anything until appeal was reacted on.

BOOM_BOOM that was the sound of the DUCKs being shot down again in a BCS Bowl Game---I guess all that Slave Money can't buy a championship.

oH and Flush the sound Our Basketball Program is going down the drain, anybody got some liquid Plumber.

What happens to others doesn't matter

I don’t care if the NCAA hammers tOSU and others, doesn’t help USC one bit. Fact is Larry Scott is saying now what he should have said last year but didn’t. Add to the fact USC got screwed in the new Pac12 deal, regardless if they are making a boat load or not, and it’s not the way you treat your marquee program. Perception is important and he off all people should know that. Time to move on.

I think that these are valid statements if you show the college football world that under duress USC really does deserve to be called ‘the marguee program.’ This showing-ness will happen, or not, in every aspect of Trojan football; AD, Coaches, players, cheerleaders AND fans. I wish you well and look forward to football against what most Ducks fans consider to be our foremost adversary. Fight On.

Heh, you Ducks have just been plucked

Good luck seeing the MNC when you get play Utah or one of the Arizona schools for the Pac-12 crown.

This is about one thing only, putting Notre Dame and The U back on top, and putting you quackers back in your place. Btw, you’re next.
