USC Men and Women Netters to start NCAA singles and doubles play today.

Steve Johnson will be the #1 seed in the mens singles draw, along with Daniel NguyenJaak Poldma and Ray Sarmiento, they will also have JT Sundling & Poldma and Johnson & Sarmiento in the doubles draw. Looks like Nguyen will sit the doubles out, which could keep him fresh for a singles run and maybe a all trojan Final. Johnson the #1 seed this year lost in the first round last year and I believe is the odds on favorite, the only downfall with a ncaa champion would be he could turn pro. This year Steve has played some Pro Tournaments and Qualifing at Indian Wells pro event and done very well, but I feel he will stay at USC anyway looking for that 4th ncaa crown.

On the women's side Maria Sanchez is the 2nd seed in singles and Danielle Lao (#2 at SC) will also be in the singles draw. Valeria Pulido-Alison Ramos and Kaitlyn Christian-Maria Sanchez (seeded 3rd) will be in the doubles draw. Espn should be televising the event in the somewhere not sure yet looks like not in early rounds. Here is a link to the daily schedule 2011 NCAA Tournament Central
