Down Goes Stanford---Down Goes Stanford No.3 USC Beats no.8 Stanford for the second time this year.

The USC Mens tennis team playing on the road beat Stanford 4-2 this afternoon with the threat of rain, they only played singles and cancelled due to rain. Stanford started in with a Straight set match at #5 singles Greg Hirshman's win over freshman Emilio Gomez  -- 6-1, 6-3, then USC freshman #54 ranked  Ray Sarmiento took out Denis Lin 6-2, 6-3 to tie it at one a peace. Then #1 Steve Johnson beat his long time friend and junior doubles partner #10 Bradley Klahn in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 to go ahead 2-1, after that another  USC Freshman Michael Grant defeated Matt Kandath 6-1, 1-6, 6-0 in a topsie terve match at #6 singles. With USC up 3-1 #36 Alex Clayton def. #24 Daniel Nguyen  6-3, 7-5, Dan has always had a hard time with Clayton who is a fine player. So it came down to the no.2 singles slot matching #41 Jaak Poldma against #93 Ryan Thacher who always give each other fits, but Jaak pervained 6-7 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (2) in 3 sets with 2 two tiebreakers in a donnybrook of a match for a 4-2 win for the Trojans. 

The Trojans are now 15-2 and take on Cal on Saturday at Cal
