After losing the doubles  point USC ran through singles play 5 matches to one even without regular #4 player Ray Sarmiento who is still nursing a injury. Steven Johnson got USC started off with a convincing victory at #1 singles over #26 Vahid Mirzadeh, followed by freshman Emilo Gomez then fellow frosh Michael Grant capped off by Daniel Nuygen.
