Friday afternoon the Trojans came across one of their toughest challenges of the season in the #20 ranked Waves, who are always good in tennis. The Waves came out big in doubles winning the first two contests at #3 8-3 and #2 8-6 over  Poldma/Sundling and Gomez/Nguyen.  After strapping down the doubles point, there was still #1 slot to be finished and Johnson/Sarmiento pulled out a tough 9-7 win to get the team fored up to play single. Well it must of worked since USC pretty much turned the Waves into a flat calm sea, by Blitzing them single 5-1.

Lead by Daniel Nguyen with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #3 single seemed to get the guys going with Emilio Gomez, Steve Johnson, Jaak Poldma in straight sets with Freshman Ray Sarmiento pulling out a 3 set victory.
