For Oregon, the idea of playing in the "inaugural PAC-12 Championship game" seems to have dropped them below USC but also moved them up 2 places to 6
I also note that SEC teams 1-2, Big 12 - OSU #3, and then THREE PAC-12 teams are 4-6 (Stanford, USC, Oregon).
This poll makes me wonder where PAC-12 would have been had USC athletes been allowed to take the field and compete.

That seems like the right spot, but only because of the terrible performance against asu…..don’t think there is a team in the country that would want to see SC right now.

But we should keep the system the way it is, because it is “fun” to “debate” these sorts of things.

There can be a playoff system in place with the big four bowls (Rose,Fiesta,Sugar & Orange). With one bowl as the eventual Championship Game rotating between the four. Top 16 teams heck you can have other bowls ala. cotton bowl in to host a “regional site” moving up to the eventual CG. And the plus side the Greedy Good ’Ole Boys get their money as well not losing bowl game revenue.
Until this done, most debates now are alike buttholes, everyone has one!

In order to do this as well BIG D1 Football programs...
Will end up with less games during the regular season. That can be done by stop scheduling cupcake OC games ie SEC with there Troy’s, Kent State, Florida Atlantic’s, North Texas & the like…

I think you could definitely make a case for us at #4
if you were wedded to the idea of the top Pac-12 teams sitting at slots 4-6, given how the three head-to-head matchups played out. I don’t really have beef with being fifth-ranked, and it’s nice to see the team getting respect for how well they played down the stretch.
