Yes we can't play in a Bowl and that is lucky for the rest of College FB' but next year we at USC will dominate.

SUCH great news
Sure, we’ll be missing Kahil and Perry, but he will stillhave the two best WR’s in the country to throw to.
A perfect Christmas present?
Next season could definitely be special. I think the JC recruits we picked up could fill in some holes at defense and I’m sure our O-line will step up. What a great week!

Matt has so much class----He Loves USC always has that Smile.
I don’t know if some of you will remember but I saw a video of Matt sitting outside of a building on USCs campus, he was a freshman in his first spring at USC. He was sitting with a bunch of girls and they were helping him with his PDA he had just got—-the kid had one of the biggest smiles you could see he was at home.

I don’t remember the video - but you’re right always a big Smile.
He really loves being at SC and it comes across. I have seen him at other sports events on campus and when visiting at ucla last year for M-VB. He always seem genuinely to be enjoying the attention, the moment and not cocky about it. He seems more apt to respond — pinch me – this is real – He is living his dream and deserves every minute of it.
FIGHT ON!

I heard it but want to the fine the video and listen again
Also I could not hear the question from the media which seemed related as well. Where Barkley said " you said that not me".

How many starters does USC return next year?
Barkley and Woods are great together. SC was certainly one of the better teams in the country by the end of this year. When SC is strong (tough D, strong lines, good backs) to go along with a great qb, they are the team teams in other conferences fear the most in the Pac. Next year, SC should be ranked very high preseason and favorite in the Pac I would think along with UO.

Man next year college football season can't come any sooner....
Niners,Nets,Reds & USC!!!
The Most Interesting Man In The World---->Mikhail Prokhorov!!!
As I mentioned before, I am actually glad Barkley coming back.
Having two teams in the Top 5-6 will be huge for Oregon and USC’s NC hopes.
My first thought was that even with a weak PAC-12 South
You guys would still control your destiny, but then I saw your 2012 OOC schedule, and I understood. If we have a down year for whatever reason, you guys are in the position that Wisconsin looked to be at the midway point of this season.
What happened there? Honest question, that seems very atypical for you guys based on your recent history. Did someone pull out, or are people just shying away from scheduling you? (We know that feeling)
Actually yes, as I recall someone did pull out
Not a great team, but better than what they had

Congrats.
Just wanted to drop by and say I’m happy for you all. I remember Peyton Manning announcing he was going to stay at Tennessee. That was a great day. Now that all of the vitriol has subsided between our fanbases, I just wanted to say good luck in the future. I hope Tennessee gets to experience some too! I have to admit….you guys are fun to watch. Maybe we’ll meet in a title game in a few years (I hope)!!

Wow a Tennessee fan...
that doesn’t hate our guts. Haha thank you sir, I’ll be rooting for y’all in the SEC too, that’s for sure. I’ve been to Knoxville before and it was one of the nicer college towns I’ve been to.
Thanks for the gesture!
One small thing though, the vitriol was pretty much one sided.

Perhaps...
I think there was some on both sides, but there probably was a bit more on our side for understandable reasons. Regardless, I’m alright in saying that I don’t wish you all a night in the pit of despair! Save that for Florida!
To Strive, To Seek, To Find, and Not to Yield.
eh, so we weren’t supposed to respond? In any case, you guys are the only SEC team with the balls to schedule outside your comfort zone. For that you have our respect.
And yes, f*ck Florida, the barners, the corndogs and bammers (sorry Bix).

And . . . .Merry Christmas to you too, Maestro!
It’s all well and good Loc. Some days, it seems like errbody be hatin’ on the Tide. I didn’t make it to the Iron Bowl this year (only the PSU game in the early season) but . . . .I’m leaving next Thursday for the championship game and I’m going to hopefully turn myself into some kind of Cajun-vampire!
Are you kidding me? The Big Easy, cocktails, and wads of money to spend? Who knows, my wife and I might just very well end up finally coming to at about the time Mardi Gras starts up? Fascinating thought, no?
I’m not too partial on Tennessee, and to be quite honest- I’m not sure which one I hate more- them or Auburn. That color orange makes me wanna hurl- projectile like, you know. But then again, whenever a Barner opens it’s mouth? It’s like an inbred cousin or brother (your pick) of a Bruin. . . .but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay dumber and yet, more worldly.
Did you know that Auburn is situated much like Kettleman City is? They got that stank to prove it, too. So, that should tell you something about the whole “Westwood is an island” thing. Those m-fers need directions to the beach. Seriously. They still think people like to do the “night-life” thing in Westwood. . . . .just because they’re there. It’s weird. And real.

You mean Auburn's like this................?
Kettleman City has a lot of fast food restaurants at its freeway exit. Many teenagers in Kettleman City work at the restaurants. The community has no grocery stores other than convenience markets. Kettleman City has no street lights and almost no sidewalks
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end
To be stuck inside of Mobile
With the Memphis blues again
-R. Zimmerman
Well, Auburn's campus is beautiful- and. . . . .they have (or HAD) a few nice trees, I'm told?
You’re right about the street lights, Gnoss. But, who needs street lights when you’ve got the artificial-rays of corporate-street signs to light up God’s quiet nights? Truth be told, I once took about 100 pictures on a stop-off in/near Kettleman City. The night sky out there is magnificent as the celestial horizon is as big as the night is long and cold.
Other than that, KCity. . .Auburn. . . same difference.

Ha! Merry Christmas Bix and G-Man :)
Bix, have a great time in Nawleans and I hope your team wins. Still haven’t gotten used to you talking about how you’ve got a wife you old hound dawg!
Guys, I just drove by the Harris Ranch (Kettleman City) last week in a dead calm. With zero wind to push the stench east (or west), it turned into a mushroom cloud that lingered over I-5 in a diamater of over 12 miles! IT. WAS. TORTURE. That area is California’s right armpit, Westwood is the left.

I think I've lost at least 3 or 4 mortal years of my life traveling through the Central Valley
I honestly don’t know how people handle living out in those parts.
Then again- when I first went to visit/live in Paris (yes, France)- upon deboarding from the train at the Gar du Nord. . . .I couldn’t catch my breath quite properly. The smell of the city is not unlike that of a Port-A-Potty, to me at least. I was coming from the redwood- and fir-laden smells of Los Gatos, CA, by way of SFO and Schipol (Amsterdam) before endeavoring into Paris on that fateful day of my youth many years ago. It’s not quite like that now (LA-weather? who knows? Old age, more like it), but it was harsh to me back then.
As a sidenote: I’m totally relishing practically EVERY SINGLE article in print, blog, web- regarding Ucla’s build-up to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl against the Illini. Those broke m-fers were literally “starving” a few weeks ago when they didn’t receive their bowl-stipend checks. All’s I got to say is, – if you’re in Westwood? WATCH OUT for your laptops, purse, wallet, or fast-food tray. Those dumbass-football players are afoot and afield and. . . . .THEY HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smart kid
has years and years to work for a living – and who knows where it’ll be? take that last year and have the time of your life…
I really don't care about being in the national champ game, if so that's great.
But I do want to see USC and Matt and the boys at the Rose Bowl

How true!
There is no better way on Earth to start the New Year than at the Rose Parade with a Thermos of hot coffee and a box of pastries, followed by an official USC party before the game and finished with ass whooping another Big-10 team. Close with a bus ride home with a bunch of happy Trojans. Heaven.

Well, fuck a Duck!
Literally.
I am stoked to the tenth power now that Barkley is staying.
Here’s a knuckle-touch to SoCal! It was he and I that said before the season started that Matt would have a better season than Luck at Stanford. We were right! If not for Marc Tyler’s fumble. . . . . ????
This young man, to me- is already one of USC’s greatest players. This year was HIS YEAR. People talk about Matt’s “cast of elite players” that he has around him- which, (in a backhanded, disparaging way) gives him an unfair advantage over other QB’s and teams in CFB (Coach Shaw at Stanford as well as countless college football pundits have said this very thing). Bullshit!
I can understand that type of thinking in the pro game of sports. Here’s looking at the Showtime Lakers, Bird-led Celtics, Steinbrenner Yankees, LeBron-led Heat, etc. But, at the D-1 college level- every team has the chance to land a solid recruit and develop them individually to play exquisitely on a competitive team. That Barkley has Woods and Lee (they’re UNDERCLASSMEN for crying out loud) and a rotation of inexperience in the backfield with the exception of Marc Tyler (who didn’t quite play a full and complete season) bespeaks of two things:
1. Coach Kiffin’s player development and coaching.
2. Matt Barkley’s maturity as a player, leader, and QB
It has nothing to do with his cast. They all (underclassmen for the most part) HAD TO MAKE THE PLAYS without the benefit of being in a long-standing system. (two years, top). Matt’s stats were and are legitimate- as he played one of the toughest Pac 12 schedules in it’s inaugural year. Can you imagine if he played against Wazzu and OreState this year?
Glad to see that he’s got more business to attend to. I can’t wait to get back to the Rose Bowl game. They’ve missed us.
