This one is going to get interesting...
The intense recruiting battle for Servite All-County lineman Troy Niklas is down to USC and Notre Dame, with just days left to National Signing Day on Feb. 2.
Niklas also had Stanford in his final three choices of schools but there is a new development with the Cardinal.
The senior said Thursday that he wasn't accepted at Stanford.
This weekend, Niklas heads South Bend to visit Notre Dame. He will not be playing for Servite's basketball team Friday because of the trip.
Things are heating up!!
This one will be fun!

Weather Forecast in South Bend for Troy's Trip on Friday
Snow likely and chance of freezing drizzle. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Lows in the mid 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of measurable snow 70 percent.
Snow all weekend! But, we may be tight on rides. Troy might be a guy that we could let slip away and not feel any pain.

I played golf today at Los Verdes GC in Palos Verdes, God’s Country, 77 degrees, the Pacific was like glass and you could “touch” Catalina and San Nicholas island.

Fried chicken dinner after visiting Marineland! Mom loved that fancy pink “decor” and the salads, she made us eat some too. Ugh.

& on Monday’s it was only $1.00, (half a chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, dinner roll & soup or salad to start. Those were the days.!
Loco, best Fried Chicken I’ve found is Dinah’s on Sepulveda on the way to Lax.

Haha! Yeah those were the days! I wasn't so focused on the prices back then
but the Old Man sure was! All we kids knew is you couldn’t get fried chicken like that down in San Diego, and were veritable chicken-a-holics! I do remember the prices on my first visit to a McDonalds, burgers were 15¢ and cheeseburgers 19¢.
Last time I had Dinah’s fried chicken (three years ago) I noticed a definite deterioration in the quality. The crust was overly thick and greasy, the chicken was scrawny and worst of all it was lukewarm. Maybe it was a bad day but the place seemed to be living off its rep. You’re better off going to Popeye’s on the corner of Fig and Adams or Pioneer on Olympic if you want a little better taste (and don’t mind the traffic!).
