Other than USC has 25 commits to date
I’m not sure what they have wrong, and that one is just a timing issue. Are you wondering how USC can sign what will be 28 kids while on schoarship reductions?
The only problem I see
is the fact he thinks USC will have 85 on scholarship for 2011, therefore he would be right in thinking the 2012 class would be tiny. However he is off by five, USC will have 80 for 2011, meaning USC can take the full 15 for 2012. It does make a difference. Most of the rest is wishful thinking. Oh and why does everyone think Lane is “shady”? What did he really do to earn that title? Rick I understand, but Lane?
Multiple minor recruiting violations at Tennessee?
To improve, they should try to become the musical southern cal of the west. - bRuins Nation poster on the Stanford band.
Granted but does that land you in the "shady" category?
If that is the case, just about every coach out there is shady. How many does Kelly have at Cincy?

Every major program has minor recruiting violations
You have just only heard of Lane’s actually being reported. And, of course, they were not all Lane’s fault. The Vol hostesses, for example, worked for Admissions and not Athletics. You should blame the AD, not Lane. But, that gets away from the villainize Lane narrative, doesn’t it?

Say What?
Kiffin had six minor violations in the one year he was at UT.
The average number of violations for NCAA football programs is nine.

I find it a little interesting
that fans from a program that was involved in the deaths of two students in one year are calling Kiffin out for two year old secondary violations.

Commits and schollies
I may be a bit dim, but can one of you guys do the math for me on this? I thought that part of the Bush sanctions was a reduction in scholarships, yet you have a class of about 25 so far? How is that managed?
What happens if you don’t have enough scholarships to go around?
Just wondering, cause I honestly don’t get it.
Well, you're not hardcore unless you live hardcore.
Hope this helps
USC has no scholarship reductions while the appeal is being heard. However they have decided to self sanction, the number isn’t fixed but it’s expected to be five. Therefore they can take 20 in the 2011 class. This class so far has 25 verbal commits, however 8 of those are EEs and count toward the 2010 class. Therefore USC only has 17 counting toward the 20 total they are allowed for 2011. As for the total number, it’s looks like USC will have 51 kids returning with scholarships, therefore taking 8 EEs and 20 in the 2011 class they will not go over the 80 limit. It’s confusing to us, can’t imagine what others think.
The other unresolved issue is the 8 “free agents” that have left so far. USC is taking the approach that they can be replaced with new recruits. However, it is entirely possible that the Fat F*ck and Co. may rule that we can’t replace them. That could mean we’d have a total of 38 lost scholarships, an unprecedented number.

EV Glad you answered SoCalOski......
It is a bit confusing …but you laid it out pretty clear that even the “architect” gets it.
Since you have the answers — do you remember how long the appeal is expected to take before a ruling….. ?
