NCAA sanctions creating more work for lawyers...
Being in the legal profession myself, I have very mixed feelings about this article.
I think it states what's become obvious: That the NCAA has become such an overbearing governing body that avoiding litigiousness is now impossible. Worse, different counsel (law firms) are now required for schools and coaches in order to protect both of them indpendently.
Attorneys are involved in nearly every aspect of NCAA inquiries. Many of the NCAA's investigators went to law school, as did many university compliance officers and athletic directors. Three attorneys, three law professors and four athletic administrators with juris doctorates sit on the 10-member Committee on Infractions.

Nice post!
- lawyers creating more work for their profession
- professional investigators would be out of a job if they spent 4 years investigating something and came away empty
- politicians create more bureaucracy to extend their career opportunities
Excuse me while I puke now.
You can't put sanctions on the fkn endzone! Death to the NCAA!

Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It’s the goof of all time.
Look but don’t touch.
Touch, but don’t taste.
Taste, don’t swallow.
Ahaha. And while you’re jumpin’ from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He’s laughin’

I will say this
with everything I read in lawyer magazines they have been doing a poor job — the country is awash in excess lawyers.

Now, I don't have anything against lawyers, but. . . . .
. . . . .the only thing I WILL ADMIT in this comment is this: I have the unseemly flaw of resorting to defending the honor of those that I care about- to the point of quickly getting into physical confrontations when those who refuse to discontinue their abhorrent behavior towards me or my loved ones.
That being said, I will probably have to address a potential legal matter involving a Portland lawyer who I punched the fuck out this past summer.
I was wearing a “NYFD” baseball cap that my nephew gave to me (he’s a NYFD-trained firefighter, currently serving in Middlesex, NJ however) and who was vacationing (along with his wife and 4-year old daughter) with my immediate family on a houseboat on Clear Lake. He wasn’t with me at the time, but as I was buying petrol at the marina- this complete stranger started a conversation with his buddy while we were all waiting in line at the counter. He said this joke to his other lawyer buddy, loud enough for me to hear- "Knock-knock? (the other guy) Who’s there? – “9-11” – “9-11, who?” – “I thought you said you would never forget?”
I went postal! And told him he’s an idiot. And he told me that I’m an idiot for wearing a cap of “NYFD” if I wasn’t a fireman". I told him, “My nephew JUST GAVE IT TO ME THIS WEEKEND and he’s here on the lake right now.” Then he said to me, “It’s not my problem he can’t get a real job.”
I kinda know why people think of lawyers as assholes.

My standard line about lawyers...
95% of them give the rest a bad name.
(that’s funny, until I need one… LOL)

Lawyers are assholes
Except the ones who went to USC Law. We’re pretty cool.
We want to build a university our football team can be proud of. -- Dr. George Lynn Cross
Litigation is the new law of the land
As more rules/laws are passed, the more lawyers become necessary to traverse the landscape, whatever it is. I see it as an unfortunate turn of events that can’t be reversed, but then, I’m not a lawyer.
And seeing the amounts billed to the schools makes me feel a little better about my own current $30K+ (and running) divorce… lol
