Kiffin said USC will do the spread lineup to see how teams react on PATs. Not trickery, it's standard to see if teams misalign coverage.

I am not surprised one bit. It is never a bad time to do a little bit of homework to see how teams react to different formations.
It might be unconventional to some but that's the way it goes.

I love this stuff
Now, every team that plays USC will have to devote some special teams practice time preparing for this. And next time USC really needs 2, they won’t be pulling the trigger for the first time.
