Heard on Rivals Radio...
I heard Bill King on Rivals Radio on my way in this morning say UCLA has problems at offensive coordinator and that Norm Chow has lost it. He also said some "Tough decisions" need to be made there.
OUCH!

"It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care"
Norm hasn’t lost it, it’s just that he doesn’t care. The guy had the pistola shoved down his throat, he already has a brand new contract, he has no loyalty to UCLA, rumors have been out there for over a year the he and Rick have issues. The fans might be willing to throw Norm under the bus, but Rick will hold off till after the season. Norm must know that too.
Its not Norm
The pistol offense is not Norm’s idea.
The fact is that ucla has no O-line and a crappy QB. No one in the country can turn ucla’s offense into anything resembling successful . You can’t polish a turd.
Yes but they have Hundley coming in next season
Bruins say he will solve all the problems, a raw true freshman with a completely rebuilt O-line. Pac10 championship for the gutty little ones.

Didja ever notice how it seems the bruins are always competing for the Pac-10 title “next year”?
Hey, Ucla -

Hey Loco,
How were the Director’s Chairs? The bidets in sec 13 were pretty cool!

G-man,
They must hate Mexicans! Everybody else had Captain’s Charis, but I got the same busted up plastic chair from the last 10 years. No matte, I covered it up with Tuck and Roll :-)
Someone did tell me the butt-washers in sec 13 were nice on a cold night.
The only really good addition was the caramel apples, they wanted 8 bucks for them (ridiculous) but had to blow them out for $5 (still a ripoff) at the end. I highly recommend caramel-coconut ones on the walk back to the car.

I wasn't cold
Because I was “fortunate” to have someone who weighed over 300 pounds sitting next to me. Good thing it wasn’t a long plane ride. My kid’s and I are real lucky when it comes to who sits near us. LOL.

BN is always on message
It’s official: Karl Dorrell was not a good coach, but Rick Neuheisel is even worse.
BN will refuse to acknowledge this glaring fact until the end of the season, but in a bit of revisionist history they seem to have forgotten all about their frenzied optimism when Dorrell went 10-2 back in 2005.
Since the existence of this blog there has been couple of UCLA programs that captured the imagination of this community. First, it was the Coach Ben Howland’s Ben Ball warriors who inspired all of us until the freshmen class of 2008 arrived on campus. Second, it was Coach John Savage’s baseball program that had all of us captivated through its magical run into the championship series at the College World series this past season – MushroomNice way to treat a fellow bRuin, with political oppo in its most raw form.

Did these guys even know what a baseball was before Savage's "magical run"?

Ima not saying what they thought it was, it will get the mestor all mad and he will cry to the big mod in the sky.

I thought a magical run included a championship?
At least that use to be the definition at UCLA, seems times have changed. BN has only hurt itself by demonizing Dorrell. They are doing the same thing Irish fans did with Ty, they demonized him so much it required them to give Weis five years. Rick will get about the same length on the job, even though it was clear year one that he sucked. Maybe if we are lucky they will keep him even longer.

They can't afford to fire him
Slick has a record of suing and winning big settlements. He will command a fat buy-out and they’d have to pay top dollar for someone to clean up that steaming pile. Who’s going to pay? Mushroom and Co?

You don’t fire a guy early who has a history of suing his employer. Remember Rick is a Guerrero guy and his second hire. If he fires Rick, his job is next on the line. Rick has full support of Morgan Center and still has many Blues behind him. They still blame Dorrell, Rick get another two years minimum. Next year will be better for no other reason than the schedule is softer. At that point he can do what he did last year and point to improvement.
Wow that would be a toss up
First I think UCLA can win 3 game, yes that in and of itself is sad, but they have to beat Houston this weekend to do it. One win probably does cost him his job, three he is safe. Remember when Dorrell cried after the 13-9 game, he knew that one game save his job. Rick might do the same if they beat Houston!

Yep no more money in the cookie jar, would have to get outside ucla support.

Reading Between the Lines: Coaching Blame Game
“I think we made it clear to the quarterbacks, Norm and I, that we have to play the position better,” Neuheisel said. “Obviously, there will be competition.” — Rick Neuheisel
“Tonight was an embarrassment, but these are our guys, we’ll keep working with them, we’ll keep getting better. We don’t have a choice,” said Chow.
These two bozos deserve each other. Both are pointing their fingers in the press directly at the players instead of taking the responsibility. Chow is not a head coach beacause he has no backbone. Neuweasel is …well, a weasel.
I have posted here before that Chow is over-rated. This season will tell it all.
Neuheisel is defining the scheme
Chow is merely coaching up the QB and calling plays. Of course, Slick overrides Chow on critical play calls.
Can’t blame Chow at all. He is just riding this thing out until retirement and pension time. Zook-heisel is calling the shots on O over there.
You can't put sanctions on the fkn endzone! Death to the NCAA!
