UPDATED: Havili suspended indefinitely...
Not surprising.
Contrary to popular belief, Kiffin does lay the wood when a player steps out of line.
This is one of those times...
Here is the relevant quote from Lane Kiffin...
"I continue to be very disappointed in Stanley's decision-making," Kiffin said. "I saw T.J. this morning and he's doing well and he's expected to make a speedy, full recovery. T.J., after hearing the news later on of me not letting Stanley participate, begged me to let Stanley come out here and that it was between them and that there are no hard feelings, but we don't condone that behavior."
This is a great message to send to those who think Kiffin won't discipline a player.

Who Cares
about popular belief? I am sooo tire of this shit. A fight at football practice is NOT news. The injury is worse than we would have expected, and SH should have to make this right with an apology; sounds like he has, and some form of discipline. I don’t think this is a big deal. After all it’s not like he put two people in the hospital. This didn’t happen in a game against an opponent, or in the dorms. F the haters.

Breaking News....Hebron Fangupo peed in the shower!
Seriously, the level of media coverage for this poor kids is sick. Kiff had to send a message, but it is all media masturbation. It is good for USC to break in some FB back-ups and rest superstud Stanley early in camp. I guarantee you that Stan learned his lesson, which is that he is too frkn strong to risk hitting people. I also know that TJ got the message which is that this season is different. No f’ing around this season. We must kill this season to send a big F U to Hater Nation and the NCAA.
Death to the NCAA!!!
Correctomundo!
It’s a good thing to sit him down, lest he take down a defensive tackle, a safety, and two linebackers before the month is out! Camp is for the children. Stan will be ready to E X P L O D E once they hit Hawaii.
Salve Caesar Augustus Kiffinus!
Ad astra per aspera
Oh no he did that, was Nestor there spying on them in the shower again to get a look on what a real man looks like , or was it Tydides.
So Fight On USC followers and Don’t worry WE Will Still Play on Saturdays and Bowls will come later, for WE ARE SC not That other Softball University. Oh and don’t say you now have a baseball team, it’s not Real Baseball unless you use Wooden Bats

That's hilarious!
And coming from a Raiders fan, how apropos!
A fullback for Michael Bush or Darren McFadden would be a welcome respite to counter those two badassses from getting hit before the L.O.S. If they could create space for those two, ANYTHING? – then we Raiders fans would be able to see McFadden run like he did while at Arkansas and Bush as he did at Louisville.
Good one Zolt!

After last season's meltdown?
Coach Carroll didn’t seem to get through with some of the players last year, and it showed in losses to Oregon, Stanford, and Arizona respectively. The Washington game was 50-50 in my book. A case of Aaron Corp AND no pop from either O- or D- lines.
I can understand Stanley’s reaction to a fellow upperclassman shluffing or not going full-bore on the last day’s drills. These guys have got to get it through their thick heads that the Pac 10, wins, and all the accolades aren’t just going to be handed to them because they play for ‘SC. I don’t condone Stanley’s actions, these things happen from time to time.
Let’s hope this is just an isolated case of fighting on the team for this year. If not, maybe some guys on the team need a swift smack to the chops? I don’t have an answer for reasons why they’d think they can take a play or two off or why they won’t push themselves each and every minute they’re out there practicing?
Stanley’s got major seniority on many of these guys. It’s within his scope as a leader of the team to get guys to push themselves- but as a leader, he must also maintain some self-control and be the mature one when/if altercations start getting out of hand.
A stiff left lead jab, feint, with a double pump uppercut to the sternum or ribs will do the trick. If anything, that second pump to the body will definitely do the trick. Potential to break a bone with that move is remote- but . . . .the target will be found and the person who may/may not deserve will be doubled over in some degree of pain and discomfort.
