USC News and Notes for July 13th
Taking a break form all the other craziness out there I thought I would throw some links up from some of the other news out there...
Pete Carroll on the airwaves...
Pete Carroll spent the the whole 30 minutes on College Football Live this afternoon.
We will hear a lot about this in the coming days but here is a preview of Pete Carroll on HBO real sports from the OCR.
I have to agree with DFW's comment in M's Fanshot earlier today. I don't expect HBO to really break anything new here...and they really had a chance to break some new ground but that would mean they would have to admit that they got hoodwinked by Lloyd Lake and Bryant Gumbe has too much pride for that.
Player News...
This is the type of story we can all get behind.
Great news for Garrett...He deserves this!
Former Coaching News...
One of my favorites gets inducted into the CFB Hall of Fame.
It is hard not to be happy for J-Rob on this great honor and he continues to give to the game today.
Just a few things for this evening...

Robinson ought to get his own post!
The guy is sadly forgotten by most SC fans- the young don’t know who he is or only remember a few rough years in the 90s, and the old remember McKay instead.
Great coach and since we’ve been too spoiled, we’ve never really given him the credit he deserved. Win one for the fat guy.
Rodney Sermons is my #5

95 was a pretty good year in the 90's!
Congrats to a Legend!
All I have to say about J Rob is that he was a class act
When I was a kid my Cub Scout troop took a trip to Rams practice. Coach Robinson came over and talked to us for a good length of time, then brought over Eric Dickerson who talked to us kids for another half hour. Neither of those guys needed to take that much time out of their day to meet with some little kids, but they both seemed happy to do it.
Congratulations Coach Robinson!
I agree, John Robinson is a total class act and great coach. This accolade is long over due. It was not easy following a legend (McKay). Just ask Gene Bartow.
AGREE!
He did a great job following a legend,
"Government is the opiate of the masses" Dennis Prager
"I've got blisters on my fingers!!!!!!"
Yep super guy and his wife is a class act also>
I met him one evening in South Pasadena, when they came in sat at the counter of this burger joint—billiards in old town. I was managing the place and I came up stairs to see how the burger place was doing, low and behold John Robinson and his wife. We chatted about the new kids he had coming in on his second stint at USC, then I picked up his tab.
So Fight On USC followers and Don’t worry WE Will Still Play on Saturdays and Bowls will come later, for WE ARE SC not That other Softball University. Oh and don’t say you now have a baseball team, it’s not Real Baseball unless you use Wooden Bats.

He was AD, for a short time.
Didn’t like it. Left for the Rams’ job. Also was the AD at UNLV for a short time, left stepped down again to coach.
J-Rob is a coach, not an administrator.
