Ellison Arrested

Disappointing to say the least...

Former USC safety Kevin Ellison was arrested Monday for possession of a controlled substance after police discovered 100 pills of the painkiller Hydrocodone, more commonly known as Vicodin, according to a Redondo Beach Police Dept. spokesperson.

"He was arrested for speeding in a school zone and during a search of his car, 100 pills of Hydrocodone were found," Sgt. Peter Grimm said.

Ellison, who plays for the San Diego Chargers, was released on $10,000 bail, according to Grimm. The safety started nine games last season and appeared in 13.

I won't even try to speculate about the pills. Some physicians write scripts for these pills like they are in a candy store. Trust me there are scumbag physicians out there too. I will say though that if he was arrested for the pills he didn't have the script on him then he has a problem.

This may sound odd, but the pills to me are minor...speeding in a school zone is not. If Ellison wants to ruin is life over a controlled substance then that is his problem. Killing or injuring kid while speeding in a school zone is unforgivable.

I am past trying to figure people out and the motivations as to why they do stupid things...Ellison puts his career in jeopardy but his reputation takes an even bigger hit.

Well Para they gave me that for my foot after surgery and I got 60 in the script, I really don't use it makes me itch a lot.

It really doesn’t work on me but that’s me most meds I have gotten scripts for don’t work and is that considered a narcotic because it does have Tylenol in the mix. Know the speeding on any public, residential or parking lot is just plain stupid in my book but some people just don’t get it.

Well basically John Wooden was and is a FRAUD, by the way where is Sammy Gilbert Ben needs some ballers.

I have about 28 left from a 30 pill script

over a year ago. Hate the stuff for no other reason than it’s reputation for addiction. Had surgery and used two of them and then switched to Tylenol. Sits in my cupboard as insurance for some future need which I hope never happens. You learn from your mistakes, hopefully Ellison learns from his.

I had surgery on my wrist

They gave me a script for 12. I only took one of them. If he has over 100 then he is going to be popped for intent to sell, or he has a major pill problem. He needs to face the music. I hope he wasn’t driving under the influence. If he was then he belongs in the system. If he was sober, and has a pill problem, I hope he gets the help he needs.

Lastly, god I hope he isn’t selling pills on the side. An NFL player selling drugs just seems frickin beyond stupid.

Not so fast. My mother had back surgery and she got 100 and a scrip for another 100. As long as they were prescribed it shouldn’t be a problem.

Still LOCO after all these years

If he has a scrip then he is ok

I agree. But last time I checked the cops usually don’t arrest people for possession of a controlled substance if they have that substance prescribed to them by a doctor, but who knows, maybe these cops are stupid.

I'll reserve judgement

I’ve been ticketed for speeding in school zone. Sometimes, the zones sneak up on you. Would like to know how fast he was going. Plus, all NFLers take pain killers. It’s a fact of life. He may very well have a prescription for all of them, although that amount is certainly a concern.

The End is Nigh

I agree, again, with DFW (what is the world coming to?).

School Zones are 20 MPH. South Bay cops will ticket most people going over 25 mph, and everyone going over 30. Who knows how fast he was going?

And painkillers are a fact of life in the NFL. As for selling them, I haven’t read anything even remotely suggesting he is selling them. And 100 Vicodin really isn’t that much, because can be a prescriptions worth.
