Phile Steele's preseason All-Pac-10 squad announced

I is always good to see some Trojans on Phil Steele's preseason watch lists.

USC center Kristofer O’Dowd, guard Butch Lewis and wide receiver Ronald Johnson are named to the first team offense. Trojan defensive tackle Jurrell Casey is on the first team defense.

Sophomore quarterback Matt Barkley is named the third team quarterback

One name stood out as to NOT being named...

Shareece Wright.

I guess I can see why because he didn't play last season but there is no question that Wright will be the best CB in the Pac-10 next year...he is just that good.

This should be a fun year to see how these players finish out the season!

Bingo. Shareece is getting no love. This is a great example of how weak preseason prognostications are, as these guys cannot possibly understand all of the insider info at each campus. USC coaches and fans know that Shareece might be the best player on the team next season. Of course, he also fails to mention Armstead, Havili, Smith/Morgan, and others whe are 1st team Pac-10 level players.

Phil Steele’s preseason is not worth the paper it is printed on, but to be fair, none of them are.

Indeed

Havili is certainly tops in the conference, some would say the nation!
