DC Trojan and I had some good back and forth going that has been pretty respectful with some great opinions on both sides. Then one our UCLA trolls came by to put his .02 cents in...
Now, don't go over to RBR and stir things up, they have been tremendously gracious in allowing us to offer a differing perspective on the post. Just take a look..we don't need to turn RBR into a litter box with a war between USC and UCLA. I just wanted to you guys to see how people without an inferiority complex handle these type of situations...

Hey, HBO Real Sports on Kiff actually seemed to be fair, balanced, and insightful. Humorous even. If anyone looked like a jackass, it was the Tenn fans. LOL! Oh, and by the way, Kiff is going to end his USC career with more championships than PC. Mark my words. We struck gold with PC, and just bottled lightning with Kiff.
You gotta remember one thing..
Unfortunately, Alabama fans know a thing or two about the NCAA and how they are in no way fair or balanced in their handing down of sanctions. So if our comments here have seemed some times..abstract, its because we know the NCAA will not use sound judgement when handling this case.
In fact, pretty much throw everything you “think” you know about the NCAA and how its handled similar cases in the past.

Yes I understand that but this is Southern California and it is a major market for the pacific rim, people notice things around here.
Heck we can’t even drive our cars without a front license plate, everything here is magnified 10 fold. So if the jerks at the ncaa rip us you can bet USC will sue and expose the Non Paying Tax ncaa to something, kind of like what to movie Blind Side showed about them. Really does the ncaa really want the general non-sports public to find out about their great little deal or not, especially in this economy.

I honestly have no idea about life in LA other than what i see on E and i really only watch “The Soup” for that matter.
What I do know is challenging the NCAA is a risky move. If SC really feels they are right and they were “dooped” by Reggie, then it makes sense to sue. But SC better make sure they are right and have EVERY duck in a row. If one person talks, it would be better if SC had never existed. Cause the hammer will crush you.
If the NCAA knows they are right but they can’t prove it with actual facts due to their lack of power, they’ll be able to get subpoenas and force people to talk in a law suit. “Facts” that were just rumors could be backed up and really come back to haunt SC. Again, if the NCAA is 100% on its findings and then SC takes them to court…oh man. A wise man once told me..“you don’t step on a land mind, unless you know 100% its a dud”..
Its one thing to appeal a decision (i.e. FSU and Bama) becase you believe you are right. And a whole other bag of wax to take the NCAA to court, who has the power mind you, to give out “death penalty”.

I don't get the NCAA inconsistency argument from the Tide
From a review of prior sanctions, they do appear to be very consistent. And, they consistently punish academic fraud issues (textbooks) and university employee bad behavior very austerely.
I agree that their power is scary. But, inconsistent? Care to prove your case? I’ve heard this whine from the Tide, but have yet to hear a cogent argument using NCAA rulings as precedence. I take it as sour grapes.
Im not an expert of this issue. Pete Holiday over at RBR is the man to talk to on this. I tried doing a search for a lengthy break down of our appeal to the ncaa and why it was deemed “unfair”. when the search feature is back up and running ill try to post a link here.
To quickly summer what i do know is this..
Our appeal listed multiple cases involving “text books” and the like, and few is any of the sanctions included vacated wins. THis is just one example and there are many…many more. Even FSU’s case involved a not so fair judgement.

Well maybe and maybe not but that's okay, the truth is that I don't drink Coffee and I do live in NB. But I am just a regular guy and really don't live or die in my sports anymore.
I care about USC because I have followed them since I was 9 years old , my dentist was from there and he was the best. My cousins went to Westwood JC , but the basketball crowd I played with in college all disliked Westwood JC and John the Woodie—Tark all the way baby. So if you think I have my nose in the air cool you can have it that way or anyway you want. The funny thing is I have always had the utmost respect for Glen Bassett, but since Billy (the cheat ) Martin took over the tennis team i say bunk on him.
But I do know this for sure ucla will never have a great FB team again.

Its funny how USC fans have their noses in the air
while residing in the humbling “ghetto” of South Central Los Angeles. Yes USC fans have their noses in the air to ucla fans. In regards to other people, I don’t see myself as any better or worse. But trust me, if you guys weren’t ucla fans, you would see just how intolerable, and frustrating it is to deal with you guys. I had to fire 2 more bruins at my work this season. It wasn’t pleasant, but their blunders were just too huge. We almost lost a client over their errors.

I’ve met Bruin fans/ alumni I didn’t like , and Trojan fans/ alumni I didn’t like. I don’t think you fired them for being Bruins, probably because they weren’t good workers. My wifes firm seems more pro Bruin than Trojan , but that’s what works for them I guess.

The honest to god truth
I wear my USC baseball cap all the time here at work. Over 11 years here in the post production industry I have gotten a lot of chatter about my cap. When I run into clients, producers, directors, editors, that choose to talk to me about USC, its always because they are alums, or they like the film school, or the football team.
Only 1 time in 11 years have I actually had a client make a comment about my hat because they attended ucla. I actually work for an OU fan, and I have several clients that have ND connections, but I have worked for only 1 ucla alum in the last 11 years.

Coppola is a cheap ass bastard. After that all you’ve got is Carol Burnett, Jim Morrison, Mariska Hargitay (and her mom), fellow commies Tim Robbins and Rob Reiner, plus Jack Black? Maybe five Academy Awards (and one Meathead) between all of them. Puhleez… that bunch is as pathetic as their football team.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t look up to him or admire him. I also don’t drink coffee , and I live in orange . My grandfather is a bruin fan, so is my dad. Since I was a kid I remember watching the games and knowing that that’s my team. I don’t live or die by sports either… but since that’s what we talk about here , it may seen that way. I’m guessing that if we met I’m the street I would think you’re a pleasant man. We all get tough behind keyboards.
