Amen Mr. Abdul Jabbar
Kareem Abdul Jabbar suggest minimum age requirement for NBA be 21.
Kids leaping to the NBA after high school is ruining the college game, and creating a generation of arrogant players who don't know how to play defense, and can't hit a 15 foot jumpshot.

and an ’SC alum in total agreement with a Bruin. What in the wide wide world of sports is going on around here?
I agree, too. The NBA should be concerned about the entertainment it provides. The vast majority of players coming in as one-and-dones are simply not ready to perform at a quality level upon arrival in the league. They may have potential and lots of talent, and may play OK at first and later come into their own, but why should the NBA act as the developmental league for not-quite-ready-for-prime-time talent? The NBA would be better off taking kids who have refined and polished their games in college, a d-league or Europe for a few years.
I can't watch the NBA anymore
No defense, bad shooting.
All you have to do is look at the olympics to see how far USA basketball has fallen. I would take Magic’s Lakers over any of these teams today in a heartbeat.
Agree man
I don’t watch the regular season, and other than watching my Spurs in the playoffs, I haven’t watched any other playoff games. I will tune into the Suns/Lakers because that one could be special, but for the most post, the NBA sucks.
Let me also give a rare compliment to a bRuin. I’ve always liked Kareem. He’s an enlightened, classy guy. He also had a great role in one of my favorite films of all time, Airplane.
Fight on, Kareem.

No disagreement here...
We’ll see if the new NCAA chief has the balls to work a deal with Stern. He is the problem here.
"Mention USC to a Bruin and they get angry; mention UCLA to a Trojan and they laugh."

Well basically John Wooden was and is a FRAUD, by the way where is Sammy Gilbert Ben needs some ballers.

And why would Stern want this?
The college game isn’t his problem, and making the minimum age 21 means 2 or 3 less years of players like Kobe and Lebron in his league. I agree with Kareem but I don’t see it happening anytime soon.
MAGNIFICENT GRAND CHAMPION CC NCAA BRACKET 2010
Disagree
Most of these players don’t do much of anything till their 3rd or fourth season. Lebron is an exception to that. There is also evidence that the strain of a NBA career is breaking down players like Kobe earlier than it would someone who spent 3 years in college. Basically you get the same mileage out of these guys no matter when they start out. The high school guys you just get earlier.
Kobe averaged 14 points a game over his first 3 seasons. Is that really worth the millions that the Lakers paid to get him early. It benefits the NBA to use the college ranks to develop high school players. It doesn’t cost them a thing, and the players are better than if they skipped college. Also they can skip out on the players that are total busts, like Greg Oden.
14 pt average
can be attributed to playing with Shaq, Nick Van Excel and Eddie Jones. Not to mention the incompetent coaching of Del Harriss.
Or maybe a high school kid should have gone to college =
rather than jump into the NBA. Kobe was pretty atrocious in those first years. I don’t think he was worth the money at first.
