Oregon State might lose their quarterback for 2010 along with the Ducks.
The Great Oregon Football Crime Wave of 2010 appears to have spread thirty minutes up I-5 to Oregon State.
It will have been just two months ago this Wednesday since University of Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli pled guilty to second-degree burglary and was suspended for the entire 2010 season, bringing to an end a seemingly endless series of Oregon football players getting into off-field trouble.
Since then, the rival Oregon State program has seen its own explosion of mischief. Former Beavers QB Lyle Moevao, former OLB Keaton Kristick and current DT Brennan Olander were arraigned in court last Wednesday for going on a joy ride on a OSU athletic department golf cart and dinging it up a bit, behavior that would probably get you a stern talking-to on most other campuses.
However, four other Beavers have also gotten into trouble with the law, bringing the total to seven in the past month. The most recent of these is QB Peter Lalich, who was competing for the starting job this spring. You might remember Lalich as the starter for Virginia in the 2008 season opener against the Trojans (USC won 52-7). Lalich is charged with a Boating DUI at Lake Shasta over Mother's Day weekend, a crime that might not ordinarily be enough to see a player kicked off the team. Unfortunately for Lalich, his situation isn't ordinary.
Lalich was kicked off the Virginia team in 2008 just a few weeks after the USC game for admitting that he was still drinking, a violation of his probation, which was the result of a July 13, 2008 unlawful purchase and possession charge. Oregon State coach Mike Riley accepted Lalich as a transfer with the understanding that there would be serious consequences if Lalich "messed up" again. Lalich has messed up again, and could quite possibly be kicked off yet another team.
Paul Buker from The Oregonian's take.

On the one hand, one shouldn’t make light of what is obviously evidence of a drinking problem.
On the other hand, if I’d been on the receiving end of that walloping in Charlottseville, I might have started drinking again too. A huge proportion of the Virginia fans made a pro forma appearance in the stands for the first half of the third quarter before bailing to go finish out their tailgates.

The Beavers still trying to keep up with the Ducks
This is still the State of Oregon, they don’t punish like others do. Slap on the wrist for most, case in point is Olander. The fact he played at all last season says a lot.
I sure have...
Part of the problem is that the police in Eugene and Corvallis are notorious narcs, and dedicate most of their efforts to policing students. The idea that LAPD would get involved with USC students mucking around with USC golf carts is ridiculous. I prefer our in-house methods…

The whole of Oregon is on dope. Even little Reed College is a player
Story from the New York Times (April 29, 2010):
REED COLLEGE’S PRESIDENT IS TOLD TO CRACK DOWN ON CAMPUS DRUG USE
After the heroin overdose death of a Reed College student last month, law enforcement authorities in Portland, Ore., told Reed’s president, Colin Diver, to rein in drug use at his campus.
Most campuses have students who abuse alcohol and drugs, and the spring festivals at many colleges are known for their excesses. But Reed, a small liberal arts college in southeast Portland, has long been known almost as much for its unusually permissive atmosphere as for its impressively rigorous academics. Two years ago, after the heroin-overdose death of a freshman, Alejandro Lluch, at the campus, Mr. Diver said as much in a cover story in the newspaper Willamette Week. "When you say Reed, two words often come to mind," Mr. Diver said. "One is brains. One is drugs."LINK: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/27/education/27reed.html
So, with two OD’s at the “brainiest” college in Oregon, you can imagine what those moron lumberjacks at Eugene and Corvallis are up to (the good thing is no additional stiffs to report). You can also imagine what the coverage would be like if this was happening at USC.
Still LOCO after all these years

Wow I don't want to think about that one, but he is a situation I read about lately.
Man in Oregon has to have Jaws of Life to extract underwear or something that resembles that. The Man was dubbed Sir Crusty!
