NFL-beat writer for the LA Times, Sam Farmer, projects the Seattle Seahawks draft pick (#6 in the first round) to be . . . . Eric Berry (Safety) from the University of Tennessee. ????? Three things: 1. What the F_ _ K? 2. Doesn't this kinda remind you of Tennessee's pick for the 2006 NFL draft? (Coach Chow's predicament of having to choose either Vince Young or Matt Leinart) and 3. Pete Carroll is just a Head Coach, and not a GM for Seattle- if Sam Farmer is correct in thinking the Seahawks are in need of a safety, what sources have told him that they're looking at Berry instead of Mays? Did he even try to get Coach Carroll's input for his prediction?

Hmmmm

this will be interesting. I hadn’t heard that Seattle had safeties as a priority. but, to be completely objective, Eric Berry looks like a great, All Pro-type of safety. If they grade Berry higher than Thomas and Taylor, then so be it. It’s a business. I think PC would be making a mistake to favor USC players.

Doesn’t he need a QB?

Here's where I'm at

I’ve seen so many very good college players CHOKE in the NFL. Looking at Berry, he has decent size. . . . .for a CB. I honestly don’t see much to his game- other than being very good on the ball. He can be sucked into the air, something that will get him scored on endlessly in the NFL.

QB? Yes, the Seahawks desperately need a QB. Clausen, as mush as we ridicule him here on CC- seems to be recovering from surgery quite well and is even paired with TayMay, Everson Griffin, CJ Spiller, and a few others on some ESPN “Freaks” docu-coverage for the draft hype. Weak QB draft- if I were Seattle, I might trade pick for 2 early round picks.

The Seahawks needs

QB, WR, OT, DE, DT, HB, FS

Obviously QB is the most important and I have a hard time seeing him pass on Clausen if he’s there at #6.

I like Sam Farmer

But his mock draft on LA Times was downright awful and I was stunned to see it.
