Well I read that at WeAreSc and what makes me feel this weird is that the season has been over for 2 weeks/
Well he either is gone or will be back there is a lot of time between now and oct. , but again what you have here is 2 people who are aggressive and stubborn. I can see that in a player but a coach needs to bend more if he really wants some LONG TERM SUCCESS>

It's kind of hard to tell who to trust in this situation
The coach with a history of anger problems or the player with a history of being academically ineligible and punching Blake Griffen in the nuts.
I'll give the benefit of the doubt to KO at this point
trying to run a very clean, disciplined program. I was a fan of Leonard, but if he didn’t want to hop on the KO train, then he had to go. Due to our high visibility and status, sadly, USC is no longer a place for projects or questionable character guys. That’s what got us into trouble in the first place. And, that’s what KO was charged with changing.
Perhaps Lenny's experience with a much better coach turned him into a KO kritic?

Yah he made Blake a lot of money, then he got the Clipper jinks.

Washington had a problem with his attitude before KO
So I will give the coach the benefit of the doubt for now.
True
But a psychologically mature coach should be able to manage kids with attitude problems, it shouldn’t be the other way around.

Leonard is the one with the history of f-ing up
Until a non f-up comes forward, and says that KO is nuts, I will believe KO on this one. Leonard is a grown man. Floyd didn’t stop him from acting like a d-bag on the court, smacking people in the nut sack, and screwing up his grades.
Not to get into an argument here, but a coach has more options available to discipline a player than kicking him off the team. Lenny is not a model citizen but he’s no felon. It’s all about Washington disagreeing with KO and being vocal about it. Remember Randall Carroll popping off about Norm Chow? This offense doesn’t come close.
Truth is, KO is nuts and capable of much greater douchebaggery than some goofball player. But, to make matters worse KO’s not that good a coach, witness the inexcusable end of season meltdown. I watched the games (and I know you did too), and you will probably agree that it was some of the worst basketball any of us have ever seen.

For example
Not fouling on the floor a couple of times at the end of games!
"I've got blisters on my fingers!!!!!!"
Yes a good coach figures out how to work with his players, something I have never had a problem with.
I always felt if they are willing to put in the time then they are welcome, I also feel it is all about how you approach the players. If you don’t treat them with respect you will never get some in return, they are not Dogs they are human beings. Also Blake Griffen brought about the the confrontation and I would expect my players to stand up for themselves too.
But who really knows what happen, I am just sick in tired of all this players leaving coaching changes. If they really want a great coach they need to fine a up-in-comer or a high dollar one.

Thank you Gentlemen
so.cal. and gnossos! See how Phil Jackson has been able to manage the likes of primadonna hotheads, and loons. From Jordan to Rodman and Kobe to Ron Ron and galaxy sized egos like Shaq’s the Zenmaster shows how a cool an firm hand at the wheel is what it really takes.

I agree that the jury is still out for KO
I’m not totally convinced that he is the right guy for the job. But I’ll wait and see what he does in the future. I don’t know if I agree with you about the season as a whole. KO and the Trojans finished much higher than anticipated, and just having a winning season was enough for most of us to be satisfied and the complete dismantling of our recruiting class.
As far as Washington is concerned. I believe that he was given enough slack to hang himself with, and he did just that. He went too far, and with his track record, I don’t have any problem with his dismissal.
We can agree to disagree on this one Loco. Its all good.
No hay problema.
I can understand your point of view. I do not condone what Lenny did, just think there’s much worse than him. So, whether I like it or not KO is our coach, and there’s nothing I can do to change that. I wish him luck and hope for our team’s sake that he can get rid of his demons so he can keep the rest of the guys on the reservation. I am officially ending my tirades, for now.

Well now. . . . . . .?
What’s this I hear about Leo NOT HAVING A TEAM IN MIND TO TRANSFER TO? Also, I read over at “BareWolf” (‘cause he barely has anything sentient, relevant, or nice to say about Trojan football) that LeoWa doesn’t even want to leave the program, much less the team, and ESPECIALLY the university. . . . so why didn’t Coach Kev “man-up” with the lad and spell out his (KO’s) decision and/or Leo’s options, BEFORE he gave him his walking papers/ I mean, is it really all that too much to ask to send the young man off with a properly-mannered and decent parting of ways (handshake anyone? anyone?) instead of practically ordering up a full-on PR-blitz to tell the media and fans you just don’t like the dude, Coach?
This was unnecessary. I mean, I don’t know how badly Leo rubbed Coach the wrong way? Leo might be a full-on daft cunt! Be that as it may, Coach just made it obvious to everyone interested in Trojan athletics, that he not only doesn’t want to coach the young brotha. . . . he doesn’t have that much respect for him either.
For a 50- or 60-year old coach? That’s pretty trite shit, if you ask me.
C’mon Coach Kev! Alright, alright- we get it! You’re “Angry Guy” -with a serious attitude for “team concepts” and shit! Be THAT guy. But also LEARN A FEW THINGS HERE AND THERE before you self-combust from all that macho-intensity. You’re on hallowed ground buddy. . . .at THE University of Southern California. . . . .we’re kinda into “evolving” and what-say-you. . . .in saying that, we take pride in treating each and every Trojan with the utmost respect. Teachers and students. Peer to peer. Person to person.
To be a Trojan for life, it is both learned and earned. (and Leo’s got a whole year on yo’ ass!)
