Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Orgeron: We feel that USC is the best job in the country. I always felt that way. No doubt about it. I was here when Coach Carroll was hired. Lane and I were on the ground floor with Coach Carroll. We feel like USC is a very powerful place. You’re in the hotbed of recruiting. It’s a private institution. The weather, the people, the support, the tradition. I’ve never been to another university as powerful as USC. Nothing has ever come close.

OK I am going to say it, I am glad Pete is gone!

He was great at USC but after 10 years no more, how in the heck does Paterno and Bowden hang so long.

LA Sports is what keep me off the streets and out of trouble, thanks to all the teams Rams, Dodgers, Lakers, USC sports and the Love of Tennis.

There's definitely some validity there

I think we’ll have to wait and see how Kiffin and company do, but in the long run, this could wind up being better for the program as a whole. I’m definitely very optimistic about where USC is headed in the coming years.

+1

when fruit is green, it is growing. when it is ripe, it is rotting. I believe PC knew this, as well, and had even discussed coaches going stale after staying in a job for too long.

Yah it's tough to do the same thing over and over for 10 + years, that is why I am leaving Trader Joes.

I love working with the kids and training people, but the job is so repetitive it is boring. Plus 3% cost of leaving sucks in so cal, but not the GM Dan Bane he is sucking all of us dry effing USC lawyer.
