There was plenty of talk that the door was open for the rest of the Pac 10 to make a big jump by taking advantage of the issues at USC. From Pete Carroll leaving, to a disappointing 2009, to the potential NCAA sanctions, there was plenty of ammunition for the rivals to use. UCLA, Oregon, and California were able to get their hands on a few prospects who might have gone to USC had Carroll been in place and if the Trojans were coming off a Rose Bowl season. Kiffin did more than fine.

Besides getting Henderson, snagging top WR Markeith Ambles out of Georgia was a nice pickup while keeping sure-things like corner Nickell Robey out of Florida to go along with top-shelf wide receivers Kyle Prater out of Illinois and Robert Woods out of Gardena, Calif., showed that the loss of Carroll wasn’t that big a deal. For all the great things the rest of the Pac 10 did, USC’s recruiting class was still the best in the league. However …

Lane called my house today

but my 2 1/2 year old is not ready to commit. He still wants to check out other schools, and Lane offered at D-Line, but he has made it very apparent he wants to play tight end. His private coach told him to commit, but he just wasn’t ready to pull the trigger.

Since your kid doesn’t want to play where Lane thinks he should, have him check out ucla, they can put in a special wild cat offense for him and also give him heliocopter rides to seal the deal.

At least we took Lane's call

when I saw Neuheisel pulling up in the driveway, I pull out the shotgun and began firing. I didn’t get the sun of a bitch, but he’ll need a new windshield and tire.

well, us Duck fans don't exactly have the best history with Neuheisel

Your hate is fairly new. We’re working on a decade and a half now.

Did you get that shotgun at Big Five Sports using a coupon? (My brother the Oregon alum claims that you can’t really call yourself an Oregonian, honorary or otherwise, until you’ve acquired a firearm this way…)

and besides

I think ‘real’ Oregonians buy their firearms at Bi-Mart.

Also, we do have a drive-thru gun and ammo shop in my small town. Awkward.

A lot of this from my brother is his efforts to identify as an honorary Oregonian. He couldn’t get out of California fast enough… but after seeking his fortunes in Portland, he’s now in Seattle.

I think my brother’s mother in law doesn’t pack heat, so that’s two of you.

A firearm?

I thought it was a cannabis grow operating in the basement for Oregonian certification.

I’m pretty sure there are some parts of eastern Oregon where showing up in a helicopter would guarantee a more thorough version of the treatment that Dave mentioned below.

Helicopter parents are obnoxious enough, but a helicopter coach?!

Well to the story about about everyone is now in a better position, that PC is gone.

It really doesn’t matter who the coach is at USC, it is what it is The University Of Southern California anything else is just an Excuse.
