Oregon's Chip Kelly Squares off with J<script type=
This is priceles...
For those of you who haven't heard it, here is Chip Kelly's great interview on John Canzano's show in Portland...
I have to admit that I am not a big Duck fan but this interview is priceless. Kelly really tees Canzano up!
I wish someone would do this to Wolf, Plaschke or Simers...

I agree to a point.
Kelly does what we wish Carroll would have. However he doesn’t come out on top, these things are no win situations. All he has done is lower himself to Canzano’s level and give him something else to talk about. Canzano gets his point out there too and even gets Kelly to admit it. The fact Kelly hasn’t suspended the running back or QB and his point that neither of these kids can play right now is meaningless to the message it sends to the other players and the public. It looks like there are two sets of rules at Oregon and the excuse he is waiting for more facts is a dodge. He is kicking out the backups and hoping it works. Maybe it will and maybe it won’t, time will tell. What is that old saying, don’t pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel or something like that.
The clown says: “Does he really not see how he’s affecting this.”
Kelly’s opening response to the clown sets the tone: “That’s your opinion and that’s what you get paid to spew out so that’s fine”
Priceless!
Here’s to Augustus stepping on Wolf’s neck.

Kelly sounded perfectly reasonable to me
Wait till you get the facts, then hand out appropriate punishment. Suspending someone in the offseason is ridiculous.
I'm not 100% happy on how Carroll handled every situation
but I do think he handled most of it as well as he could. He was more soft on the players than I would have liked. He was a players coach.
Former Portlander here....
Canzano is more hated in Oregon than any of our L.A. sports media figures… even Wolf. I was at a Portland Timbers soccer game once and the Oregonian took out an ad on the big screen that was something like “The Oregonian’s John Canzano, voted America’s #1 Sports Columnist!” 11,000 people booed the hell out of it… and it was just a still ad!
I don't think Plaschke is that hated

PLASCHKE JUST PLAIN SUCKS...
Was is a billboard or did the crown leave the bill on the board?
Is Canzano America’s #1 sports columnist, or Oregon’s favorite punching bag?
Like you said FO09 just ridiculed

I hate Plaschke
And I know a bunch of others that feel the same as well. USC is one thing, but I don’t like him disrespecting my Dodgers the way he does. He doesn’t understand baseball.

I disagree with Plaschke a lot
but, admire his writing talent. he has written some very moving pieces. I appreciate the USC disdain for him though.
I would say:
For every five shit stories he writes, he writes a good one.
Sorry for being so negative on the dude. His lack of knowledge on areas of sports, baseball specifically, poisons people. What can I say? I’m only 20…

No he is looking to transfer to ucla, might as well make the rounds.
No in all seriously I hope he rights hid ship, super talent just has no direction.
LA Sports is what keep me off the streets and out of trouble, thanks to all the teams Rams, Dodgers, Lakers, USC sports and the Love of Tennis.

My brother went to Oregon and lived in state for 14 years or so… and he loathes Canzano for being a yellow journalist of the first order. The best thing that Canzano ever did was get punched by Colleen Bellotti.
Colleen is Mike's name after 11:00 PM on St. Patricks...

I wish Bush & Mayo would give an interview in the next couple of weeks, to a major network.

Canzano is much smarter than any of the LA sportswriters
It was the first that I’ve heard of him and I was reasonably impressed at first. Smart guy. Great debater. Seemed fair, stating his opinion based on facts. Not reaching or sensationalizing too much. Kelly and Oregon should stand up to tough questions on this stuff.
But, if Canzano has a history as an ambush artist, then I can’t respect the guy. Still, he seems way more talented than the LAT guys. Lev at the OCR is by far the best USC reporter.
I thought Canzano couldn’t have been more patronizing. If I were Chip Kelly and Canzano had been going on about how he still thought I was the right guy for the job, and I came from a good family, and all that, I’d ask at what point he had become the Athletic Director of the University of Oregon and that I wasn’t looking for a lay minister to counsel me through life.
What a self-important display that was from Canzano.
Good point
worth noting that Bellotti is now AD, so it’s not like they have an objective administrator in the AD role. and, we can’t forget that Bellotti replaced Pat Kilkenny as AD. Kilkenny’s qualifications were being a major athletics booster from a successful insurance career.
not a whole lot of adult oversight up in Eugene. of course, it is basically just a subdivision of Nike. we know who runs Oregon U:

Oregon deserves Canzano
The Duck fans at Autzen are rude, ill-natured, foul-mouthed beasts who struggle with an inferiority complex that dwarfs Wolf’s self-esteem issues.
P.S.
But I can’t wait to go back in 2011 and just kick their quacking little asses back to the nearest organic creamery.
I've never been at Autzen
But it’s probably not as worse as being at a soccer game in Mexico.

Me neither but no one speaks well of it.
I’ve heard it’s like being seated near the ASU student section, but for the entire stadium.
