We hear that Rick Neuheisel is trying to raise the money to pay off former USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow.
Here is the rumor of the day....
It's from Wolf so take it for what its worth...he has been very wrong before.
Why would the UCLA Regents approve the contract only to then fire Chow 2 months later?
If true things really are screwed up over there.

Crap! Agent Chow's cover has been blown. He'll have to come in from the cold.

No firsthand knowledge here...
…just reporting what I read. But, the reason the Regents approved Chow’s new contract two months ago had nothing to do with UCLA’s or Rick’s longterm commitment to Chow. it was merely a formality to deliver on an agreement which had been reached with Chow last offseason. It took until late into this season because that is the pace at which Regents do things.
I dont think Chow cares enough to argue with Rick
he might disagree with RIck, but if Rick wants to try some goofy idea, Chow will just say “Ok” and go with the flow. He is the type of guy that’s not going to argue with the head coach. He will let RIck fail and probably laugh a little to himself afterwards. If he is lucky he will take ucla’s money and walk away only to get with a better team down the road. Who knows… maybe he will end up at BYU when his stint with the bruins is over.
Word in the coaching world is that Newshizel doesn't know what he's doing
Dorrell was better. Ucla needs to tread lightly with CNC or face dire consequences.

Pete publicly stated that he thought Neuheisel was a coaching sham.
Dorrell was better….. and Dorrell sucked.
Which basically translates into Neiheisel supersucks.
You did it again frak! "Supersucks" must be added to the 2011 edition of the OED

I think the results on the field speak for themselves… decent recruits regressing and results to match.

He’s having a helluvatime finding assistant coaches willing to work with him. Newshizel is effectively radioactive.

Well who would want to sign onto that ship? If Neuheisel makes it more than one season, I’d be surprised, so signing on at UCLA is akin to agreeing to being unemployed in a year – or two, at the outside.
"When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea"
A few facts: Dorrell vs. Neuheisel
1. Dorrell had 1 losing season in 5 years. Neuheisel has 2 losing seasons in 3 years.
2. Dorrell never had a losing conference record in 5 seasons. Neuheisel has never had a winning conference record in 3 seasons.
3. Dorrell never finished lower than 5th place in the conference. Neuheisel never finished higher than 8th place in the conference.
4. Dorrell was 22-15 after 3 seasons. Neuheisel is 15-22 after 3 seasons.
5. Dorrell finished his tenure at 35-27. Rick Neuheisel needs at least 10 wins a season to equal that total.
6. Karl Dorrell is 1-3 in bowl games (all Dorrell teams made a bowl game. Dorrell was fired before the Las Vegas Bowl in his 5th year.) Neuheisel is 1-0 in bowl games (Neuheisel didn’t qualify for a bowl in 2 out of 3 years.
Dorrell was 1-4 against USC (0-3 after 3 seasons, vthe victory came in the 4th year.) Neuheisel is 0-3 against USC (Neuheisel played 2 of the worst USC teams in a decade during his 3 seasons and lost to them.)
Conclusion: Rick is worse than Dorrell in just about every way so far, with little or no hope of surpassing any of Dorrell’s stats.

Well done frak, KD must be laughing his ass off!
Dorrell is a good man that was treated very badly. The bRuins (and by that I mean “the nation”) are getting what they deserve. Three years ago I said the Bruins would rue the day they fired Karl Dorrell, that day has arrived. Stab On bRuins, Stab On!

The sad part...
Is that they still think that some of Neu’s problems are Dorrell’s fault. It’s mind-boggling really.

I have no doubt that some Domers
are still blaming Ty Willingham. Paranoia is by definition irrational.
That dog won't hunt round these parts Danny
You’re reaping the fruits of Newshizel’s flashy-shitty recruiting and no bullshit spared patronizing of ucla’s fanbase.
Oh, and please don’t tell us he didn’t approve this message.

And surely Karl Dorrell had a lot to do with this…

Hmmm…

Majorly epic, frak!
What’d I tell you guys? The man just simply REGULATES! (understand this to mean: frak, is CC’s King of Maintaining Proper Order!) I’ve never known anyone better at nailing down a better Trojan perspective on things pertaining to college athletics.
Dude! After all these years, I’m still in awe.
Ahem! It’s a total understatement for me to say, “Agreed!”

Thanks
Danny, I agree with bruin fans on Karl Dorrell not being a great coach. He really didn’t do anything spectacular when he was at the helm. But I do think its wrong to blame a guy after 3 years have passed. This is Neuheisel’s team. The Irish were blaming Willingham 4 years after he was gone for the 3-9 year that Weis had.
Neuheisel declared the team was on the way up after the Eagle Bank Bowl, and all but guaranteed victory against USC and Kiffin after Pete Carroll left. He also declared a monumental shift in Los Angeles football after Pete Carroll left. His team sucked this year because he installed a Pistol offense that the OC wasn’t familiar with, and the QB wasn’t good at. Add a trio of receivers with butterfingers, and you have one of the worst offenses in college football. That’s all Neuheisel’s fault.
DUDE!!! YOU. ARE. ON. A. ROLL!

They sue looked good vs. Navy!
That was some fun-watching football. Last year’s Army/Navy game was legendary, but watching football on a soggy-field is almost as fun to watch as “having” ultra-nasty make-up sex. (you know, something about wet things that are messy? dirty isn’t so much a condition, as it is a consequence. matter of fact, one of my favorite words is “moist”). I shouldn’t talk about the goings-on of my day-to-day life so openly, should I? So sue me! A man’s gotta have priorities, right? How’d I know she’d be feeling so sorry about things?
The holidays provoke so many complicated matters in the lives of people, don’t they?
