This comes across as a sensationalist hit piece
If you really think Barkley doesn’t care about winning or this program, clearly you haven’t been watching this kid since he’s been at SC.
+1, brutal
the author must be trying to emulate Gregg Doyel.
You can't put sanctions on the fkn endzone! Death to the NCAA!
leave him alone put yourself in his shoes, Oh I forgot you are uncoordinated

What about being in Michael Morgan's shoes?
It’s your senior season (maybe your last season of football). You are heartbroken by a crushing last second loss to a team you desperately wanted to get revenge against for last season’s last second game-winning field goal and your leader…your captain…your quarterback is smiling and joking.

I think MM will be alright and the season isn't over, plus USC playing for nothing.
MM should have pumped up the defense and not lets Washington score 32 pts, but would you know Turdheel. Get the ____ out of this forum T R O L L

Easy...lets not go down this road.
"What have they figured out?" "NOTHING." Lane Kiffin
"Mention USC to a Bruin and they get angry; mention UCLA to a Trojan and they laugh."
That article is disgraceful
Barkley has been nothing but a model Trojan. Since these sanctions came down he has done everything he can to keep the team together. He could lose every game this year and I would still think of him fondly. Forgive him for not falling into hysterics after losing a close game in which, frankly, he played pretty well. The whole offense played well. Maybe I’m crazy but 31 points ought to be enough to win. I don’t go in for schmaltz, if you want someone who will make a silly scene buy a Bronco’s Jersey.
Many of our “golden age” QB’s shrugged off bad losses — anyone remember JDB? But I guess we can’t give the benefit of the doubt to a kid (true sophomore and all of 19) who is leading (actually leading not just on but off field) a team through one of the toughest seasons any squad has ever faced. What distresses me most is that this was written by a USC blog — like they know nothing about the last 10 months. Surprise, surprise, the NCAA death penalty and the loss of one of the all time greatest coaches in College Football history means this team is 4-1. The fact that we still field a competitive team is a victory. USC is the home of the Trojans, named not for their grace in victory but their dignity in defeat. Fighting on is not about crying and gnashing of teeth. Its about looking adversity in the eye and not giving up. Its about losing everything and getting right back up. Matt Barkley fights on. I suggest we all do the same.

+ infinity for Tim Teboner reference!
Excellent post ilium55. Beyond cool and lucid, as well- most Trojan fans should heed your advice. We simply cannot Fight On, without fighting through this. It’s a long season and for sure losses will pile up. We’re not advocating blind allegiance here. No, when our team or coaches falter- sure hammer them for it. But, please- All Trojan fans alike- don’t completely disparage our team of coaches and players for attempting to find their way through all this.
This isn’t the ‘03 Trojans, and THAT’S WHERE OUR EQUATION STARTS! If Trojan fans even slightly consider where this equation starts, then our support for our team will remain strong.
Fight On ilium55!
Fight On EVERYONE!

It's like this...
Barkley, Fight On! Stupit person that questions his heart… Shut up! This is not a quitter, and you need to understand everthing this team is going through, and the hill they have to climb. Barkley is doing a good job.

Personally I don’t think you should like to such douchebag articles.
Los Angeles is like Manchester. There is a red team that wins championships and a blue team that doesn't.
Over-Analysis for 500 Alex
Though the blame game is going to keep on getting worse if USC’s season doesn’t improve.
I am taking this off the main page
but will keep it up in the side bar…
this is another self loathing hit piece by a DT writer, or whatever this guys is, similar to that of Wolf, Markazi etc. Guys who are jealous of the all-American boy that Barkley is…good looking, happy go lucky, successful, smart, who people look up to…etc.
He isn’t perfect and is still a kid even if the a ton of leadership has been thrown upon him. Why take a shot at him?
We couldn’t possibly know what the context was of of Barkley’s “smiling”.
We should be more concerned about Lane Kiffin’s continual lack of a positive attitude…I like Kiffin and support him, but this constant “we’re bad at this” or “we’re bad at that” is tiring….a complete opposite of “Win Forever”

My thoughts exactly
My comment was also going to be “did Scott Wolf write this?”

Barkley had me...
…at “you can’t sanction heart!”
The guy has been as “rah rah” Trojan as you can ever be. All he ever talks about is how he is living his dream of being QB1 for USC and he can’t imagine being anywhere else. He may have a ways to go in development, but I am more than satisfied in his dedication to the team.
If Barkley has shown us anything,
it is that he might not complete every pass, and he might throw some picks, but he has clearly earned our trust as a leader and a Trojan. We have no reason to doubt something that is such an incredibly basic part of who he is: that we wants to win football games.
This shit is weak.
