Slick d**k has them headed in the right direction and they are going to be competing for PAC 10 and NC any time now. I loved every second of the game last night

I guess the bruins have to ask themselves

if 5 more victories are better than rah rah post game speeches.

How much more rope can they give the guy?

I still hear MSM guys saying that Dorrell just left the team in really bad shape, or Neuheisel has a ton of young talent and just needs one or two more years.

Suckers! Sorry, but it does not take 4 or 5 years to build a program in college, especially if you are based in LA.

It is what many of us thought it was from Day One. Neuheisel is simply not a good HC. So ironic that Kiffin gets more questions about his HC skills than Neuheisel. Rick Neuheisel is a FAILURE!

that's horsesh.t claim by Mushrooms of this world

Dullard did ignore the o-line, but he left a pretty solid defensive talent – price, carter, ayers, moore, dye, hester, verner – were all dullar recruits

That is hysterical.

At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

This guy what is his purpose, he is not coach, not a leader, he is basically a politisiom.

Ucla needs a coach that shows results not dreams about them.

I love national championships it makes me feel superior to others, my whole place has USC stuff everywhere, it's painted red and gold, my car is the same colors my asscrack is bruin blue.

Rick LOVES UCLA, deeply

There’s no doubt about that. Plus, dude is a very smart guy.
I went to school with both him and Karl. Both are stand-up fellas.
But, man-o-man… being a HC is definately takes a certain skill-set (to say the least).
Clearly, Carroll has it. Folk like me who lobbied hard for Rick to get the job, felt
that his personal passion, committment, and love for the Blue & Gold would be enough.
Dude wanted the job, like, FOREVER. Being such, I just “Neu” he’d come in and kick ass. That was all of our thinking. Probably, even his. We’ll give him one more season, for sure. Dude is a Rose Bowl winning quarterback. It’s not like we’ve got a zillion Heisman Trophy winners. Rick’s next year starts NOW. Hope he realizes that… acts like it… and at least puts us in the conversation by season’s end for folk to say “UCLA is definately on the upswing”. Closing out with a 4 game run, plus anykindabowlvictory will do that. Go Bruins.

U-C-L-A Fight, Fight, Fight! Go Bruins!

[I got banned from Nestra's Sandbox (aka BruinsNation) for... wait for it... expressing MY OWN personal opinions. Just read the posts there. Buncha girls (and women too) effin' APOLOGIZING for posting an opinion that may contradict, upset, or otherwise throw "The GrandPooBa" into a hissy-fit. Want some laughs? Just go visit that board, reply to one of that lady's posts by simply saying "I disagree", then watch the sparks fly from her and all her minions. Sooooooooo funny (if it wasn't so freakin pathetic)]

I will never question Neuheisel's passion for ucla

But I have to wonder how Dorrell, a coach who was clearly not qualified, has a better record than Neuheisel. The problem with ucla is that they have ignored the defensive side of the ball. Neuheisel is an offense guy, then he goes out and hires another stong-willed, opinionated offensive coordinator. The problem with Chow and Neuheisel is that they have opposing offensive philosophies.

Chow favors NFL style 3 step drops, short passes, involve the tight ends and running backs in the passing game, move the chains type of offense. Neuheisel likes the gimmicky shotgun garbage that leads to the inevitable destruction of the 1st string quarterback every season. Seriously guys, when is a ucla QB going to make it through an entire season without missing multiple games. I think there has only been 1 year that that has happened.

The emperor has no clothes. Neuheisel is not a good coach.

For me Rick is UCLA

He is the human embodiment of the institution, and my opinions of both are shared. In the end having a coach fail at his alma mater is hard. Charlie Weis was the waddling embodiment of Notre Dame, and an awful coach. He stayed too long because for Domer’s it was like trying to fire their cousin. I always liked Dorrell, I believe that he is a good person. I also don’t think he was a bad coach. The Idea that Rick loves UCLA more than Dorrell is only a temporal argument — I’m sure he does NOW. In the end it was a battle for the soul of UCLA, the John Wooden, Karim, Jackie Robinsion UCLA that makes Californian’s proud of their taxdollars at work, versus the Smarmy golden boy self aggrandizement of Neuheisel and Cade McNown. Guess which side won.

Check!

Way to go, mate! I feel the exact same way about Neuheisel being the embodiment of the current state of Bruin minds/disposition. The guy is “true-baby-blue”, this much is entirely clear. And the fans, students, and faculty might sincerely believe that he is the man for the job.

Trouble with that is, if they are at all “sincere” in their logic- than they must also agree that, they MIGHT be sincerely “wrong” about having such opinions on the man.

The 14-18 stat isn't as bad as

7-15 in the pac-10, with those seven wins NOT against winning teams!

by Julio Nievas on Oct 23, 2010 11:19 AM PDT reply actions

3 of those 7 wins

came against WSU. 4-15 is the record against the other 8 teams.

by TrojanJAG on Oct 23, 2010 2:04 PM PDT up reply actions

And 2 of the remaining 4...

were against the University of Washington. He hasn’t yet beaten a team that has finished in the top half of the league.

People also forget that he walked into two talent loaded teams at Washington and Colorado and while he did have some success, his record got worse each year at both schools. And he left each program in ruins.

Los Angeles is like Manchester. There is a red team that wins championships and a blue team that doesn't.

Geeze, with the rate of decline for news and information on this particular thread. . .

. . . .did anyone get robbed, too? [insert chuckle here]
How about drugs? [insert chortle here]
Was anyone on drugs while they played during their wins against “Noname State” and “U of Suck”?(the last 2 of their terrible 7 wins). [commence to crack the heck up here, hopefully?]

Thank goodness no one has died or something? That stuff was getting scary. Whew!

UCLA is just not commited to winning football games

Neuheisel is a good coach, but UCLA is just not serious about football. It never has and never will be. Look at their football history. When you think of UCLA football what names jump out at you? Jonathon Ogden, Kenny Easley, Cade McNown, and Freddie Mitchell? I don’t know how much UCLA pays their coaching staff, but I can guarantee you that the Kiffins and Coach O make almost as much as the entire staff of UCLA.

By the way let the monopoly thing go. It was funny, but its kind of old now.

There was a firefight!!!!

by ThePhenomenon on Oct 23, 2010 6:44 PM PDT reply actions

When Neuheisel stops talking crap

and “claiming the town” until USC proves itself, then the monopoly thing isn’t going anywhere. You just can’t talk up that amount of poop and expect it not to end up on the bulletin board, or blog in this instance.

I agree with most of what you are saying, except for the “Neuheisel is a good coach” part. Every team he has coached has gotten worse or stayed the same, not to mention his track record of NCAA violations, and lying. He has done well with other coach’s recruits for a couple of seasons, then his programs blow up and hit the skids. All you can really say is that he talks a good game.
