We have been hearing quite a bit of chatter throughout the day today that Garrett could be on his way out as the Trojans' director of athletics. Talk along the lines of "you're fired!"

Several prominent boosters and school officials are said to be far from pleased with the current state of athletics at the school -- particularly the dark NCAA cloud looming over the two highest-profile sports -- and most, if not all, of the chatter concerning Garrett revolves around what the boosters may or may not have up their long-reaching, omnipotent sleeves.

Garrett on shaky ground at USC?

Take it for what it is worth. I do not see this happening at this time...

we need to get rid of this guy but we dont have time to hire a new AD, hire a coach, and save the recruiting class.
But i mean, he should be fired solely for what happened to the baseball team. football and basketball are nails in the coffin

We do have several STARS on the AD staff. Form a special committee of the BoT chaired by Pat Haden to oversee the work of an Interim AD from the AD staff, and we would not skip a beat.

Mike Garrett should have been asked to retire years ago when the Institutional Control investigation commenced.

I have been thinking that

He probably makes a ton of jack $$$ with his Riordan investment firm. But, perhaps he has made so much, that he would be willing to take on a labor of love. Pat Haden would be a great AD because 1) he is a savvy businessman, and 2) he is a tried and true Trojan athlete. He bleeds Cardinal and Gold. But, #1 far outweighs #2 in importance.
