Allen Bradford in rush to recognition
Allen Bradford felt like the forgotten man in USC's tailback rotation the last three years.
The former Colton High star shined annually during spring practice or training camp, and then watched as former teammates such as Chauncey Washington and current Trojans C.J. Gable, Stafon Johnson and Joe McKnight handled most of the work.
Not anymore.
Bradford was the second tailback in the game against San Jose State, and he made new play-caller Jeremy Bates look good when he scored on a career-long 43-yard run in the Trojans' 56-3 victory at the Coliseum.
"It just happened slow, like it was a dream," Bradford said. "I wanted to keep the ball but I don't know what I did with it."
Stupid me I totally forgot to mention Allen Bradford in my earlier post. He was an absolute stud yesterday!

Congrats Allen
I have nothing bad to say about Bradford, but seriously, he was untouched on that run. Any one of our RBs would have taken that run to the house. My bitch is about CJG. Why is he still in the doghouse? I believe he was the 5th RB to get a touch. Granted, anyone could find a reason to bitch about the RB rotation, but here’s how I see it:
- Fumbles McKnight: Reggie Bush Jr, yet averages 1 FUMBLE per GAME!
- Allen: power and speed, consistent 3-4 yds per carry
- Marc Tyler: Future Heisman winner, needs to wait 1 year for his turn
- Stafon: nice speed and power, no fumbles, lacks big play potential, consistent 5 ypc runner
- CJG: Avgs 7 yds per carry! Second only to McKnight. Speed, moves, and runs hard. Best combo blocker and receiver of the RBs. 2 year starter. CJG > Stafon!
Why is CJG in the doghouse? I don’t like it.
