USC WR Ronald Johnson out 6-8 weeks w/fractured collar bone

Well, it wouldn't be a USC scrimmage if someone did not get hurt.

David Ausberry come on down!!!

USC freshman quarterback Matt Barkley will have one less major target to throw to when he makes his college debut next Saturday against San Jose State.

Junior wide receiver Ronald Johnson suffered a broken clavicle in the Trojans’ final pre-season scrimmage Saturday afternoon at the Coliseum and is expected to miss six to eight weeks."The hit of the weekend," USC coach Pete Carroll said of Johnson’s injury. "Just a crusher."

Johnson had expected to start at one wide receiver spot.  Junior David Ausberry will now start in Johnson’s place, with  Damian Williams  moving  over to start at the other wide out spot, Carroll said.

Carroll said redshirt freshman Brice Butler and freshman De’Von Flournoy also have to step up in light of Johnson’s injury.

SC has had injuries before and we have the depth to fill in the gaps.

Here is a more detailed injury post on the fractured collarbone, but I plan to update it.

This will test our patience...but that that doesn't kill us will make us stronger!

FIGHT ON!
