I guess we own the police in Nantucket too
I wanted to make note of it but it is really not that big of a deal...
The guys at USCFootball.com posted links to the item on their football message board here.
This item from The Nantucket Independent lists Griffen in the city’s police blotter as being arrested for "breach of the peace." Campbell’s name is not listed, but the blotter does include a "Jordan A. Moore," 21, of Corona — Campbell’s age and hometown.
And just like that the charges were dropped.
Meh...
College kids having fun during a holiday weekend. Have you ever been to Nantucket? I have, they will write you a ticket for looking cross eyed.
Like I said BFD.
I wonder if their heads are exploding across town?

Well... Here is another angle that the clowns will talk about
How did he get to Nantucket? I mean he is black.. He must be poor.
And Mushroom is probably Arab, so he must be a terrorist.
Mushroom delivers!!!
Like Pavlov’s dog:
Nestor: The question a reporter would want to know who paid for their trips ending up at parties on the house of juice company tycoons?
Mursh, it costs less than $300 to fly to Boston from LA. Everson and Jordan are black, so they must be poor. Great logic.
Didn't one or both of Everson parents grad at ucla
Both families have the money and It has been said that they and there frat bros had been planing this for a year. Or did they use one of Senator Harry Reeds gov. credit accounts

I’m more disturbed that he’s on Nantucket than whether or not he’s looking at the po-po the wrong way… it’s a bit of a middle-aged destination ;)
LMAO!
On the prowl looking for some Cougs??
Hey, now! A boy’s gotta be PAID.

Hey DC
where ya been? Figured you’d be posting a few about the US run in the Confederation Cup and now the Gold Cup.
Speaking of the wrong way Newport Beach has a sister, who would of known.
I got a look at some of the tickets that NB gives out, because I had to appear on my red light ticket. My ticket was a bicycle citation but when you get the infraction payment in the mail it is lumped into vehicle code (436.00). So I went to the arraignment court to speak with the judge, to see if its going on my driving record. Well after sitting through a variety of offenses, he got me he reduced fine to 96.00 and dismissed it.
But some of the other offenses were J- walking this person was waiting to cross with like a crowd of people. She was standing in front of the curb, he dismissed it and said Newport Beach police you never know where they are coming from. Before that one girl got it for 420 and had a doctors note so the judge dismissed that too, she wasn’t driving. There were a ton of these crazy tickets but now I know Newport isn’t the only one.

No Story Here. Move Along.
Getting a breach, disturbance, PI ticket on a beach during a holiday college party is a right of passage for college males. Fight on, Ev and Jordan. I wish I was young enough to be there with you.
On a more important note, did you see how frkn big those kids look? They already look like NFLers. Impressive!
We seriously own the police... everywhere!!!
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/pac10/0-10-31/Clearing-up-the-details-of-the-Griffen—legal—issue.html
A spokesperson from the Nantucket Police Department said Thursday there were no criminal charges filed against USC defensive end Everson Griffen or linebacker Jordan Campbell, nor were the pair arrested, as reported elsewhere, for “breach of peace.”
The pair were cited for being at loud at a July 4th party
From Wolfs Blog
Everson Griffen and Jordan Campbell were cited and released by Nantucket police for being loud at Fourth of July party. They must must write a letter of apology and no charges will be filed as it is a civil matter.
Sounds like its no big deal. I’m sure someone across town will want them put in jail for life.
USC endowment and tentacles getting bigger (and longer)
clearly, proof that you own the police across the country.
Why would these guys go to Nantucket, other than to learn new limericks? Surely the So Cal beaches have better women to look at.
ever been to Nantucket?
Awesome place
LOTS of hotties…with money!
It was a frat brothers parents house…who have a few bucks…2+2 =…
And like clockwork... here is the comment I was waiting for...
The question a reporter would want to know
who paid for their trips ending up at parties on the house of juice company tycoons?
Yeap, and there it is…
U$C
u¢la
You get what you pay for…
USC families tend have a little bit more disposable income…and I saw it first hand.
Lobster shells,
a pack of oyster crackers and empty bowls of clam chowder were discovered in the vicinity, Murshed Zaheed is on the case.
My question: What do normal Bruins like dj89 and Pablito think about this whacko’s endless jihad against USC and South Central Los Angeles?
I am amused.
But I totally think this is a non-story. College kids being loud drunk & rowdy?!?! OH NOES!
As for who paid for the trip, (& I’m not saying they didn’t) would it be a violation if a friend’s family paid for a trip or portion of it? Say the players bought their own tickets to Boston or Nantuket (it’s an island, right?), but they get free lodging.. that isn’t a violation, right? Flights into Nantuket are a little pricey but not out of reach for a student-athlete that is thrifty.
Much ado about nothing… UNLESS PETE CARROLL FLEW TO NANTUKET & GAVE THE POLICE EACH AN ENVELOPE FULL OF CASH!!! ZOMG!!! YAHOO GET ON IT!!!
Don't care
because I’m not him. I know people like him. They’re not nearly as happy as people who can see past blind partisan politics.
His hate for USC is purely political.
Just be happy you’re not him.
The dud'e a d-bag
I am not opposed to USC bashing in principle, but his humorless approach is idiocy. I used to read a Michigan blog site that razzed tOSU all the time, but it was funny about it-EDSBS is the same, way, Hey Jenny Slater, a bunch of others bash and flame other programs but none do it with the grim certainty, almost a Puritan vibe, of Nestor and BN.
Bru-hadists Will Destroy the Infidels!
This may be a ubiquitous device, but the UCLA with the penny sign is absolutely classic, Para. I need to figure out how to make a cent sign on my keyboard. Hi.lari.ous!
The cent sign will be obsolete soon...
w/ California’s budget crisis, the cost of an education at UCLA is quickly rising. During my last year of law school I was paying nearly $30K. My brother just got in for undergrad and I think he’s paying somewhere over 20K (incl. dorm fees).
When I graduated from UCI so many years ago (four), I was paying just over 4K and could pay for the entire thing by just working almost full time. Those days disappeared very quickly.
Isn't that just amazing how much the cost to pay inept professors to teach non -sense
lets face it 80% of profs are a waste of time.

For what it’s worth… when I was in grad school I was the grad student representative for on a university budget committee. it was kind of a rubber stamp exercise, but what was interesting was that the bulk of the operating cost was infrastructure and personnel, and that the tuition wasn’t the operating cost divided by X students, but the tuition cost less a defined draw on the endowment less outside funding divided by X students (crude simplification, but bear with me)… So, if the state spending is down, the dividend is larger.
And it’s not just academics, it’s staff.
That said, I was talking last week to a friend who teaches at a small college in New England, and she was saying that she likes it because the emphasis is actually on teaching as opposed to semi-fraudulent “research” and infighting, unlike most larger universities.
Not sure why I'm helping out here
But to level the playing field (and also b/c I vastly prefer the U$C vs U¢LA jabs to the feeble SUC vs bRuins attempt at wit):
If your keyboard lacks a ¢ key but has a number pad, you can hold down Alt and type “0162” with number lock on and get the symbol. Alternatively, and probably easier to remember, in an HTML setting such as this, you can type (without spaces):
& cent ;
in the spot where you want the ¢ to appear.
This concludes your nerdy keyboard tip of the day.

You're right...that was for PCs only
Tho I think the HTML code should still work for Macs. If not, you can try Option (or alt) +4 on a Mac and see if that does the trick. Not sure if that still works or not. Sadly, it’s been a long time since I’ve owned a Mac.

Not working on laptop keyboard. Will try desktop 2moro. Thx insomniac. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
You need a semicolon at the end
with still no spaces. then " & cent ; " becomes
