KO Lands His First One

Bumped - Great news! P

Gelaun Wheelwright was supposedly UCLA bound, this is great incredible news!

New USC basketball Coach Kevin O'Neill deserves to get a high-five from his assistants because Corona Centennial junior point guard Gelaun Wheelwright announced Wednesday he has committed to the Trojans.

Wheelwright is the first new recruit since O'Neill was hired to replaced Tim Floyd. He averaged 18.5 points last season as a 6-foot sophomore. And Wheelwright is apparently not afraid of potential NCAA sanctions against the Trojans if violations are found involving former Trojans guard O.J. Mayo.

"It came down to they really wanted him," Centennial Coach Josh Giles said. "Whatever issues USC might have Gelaun feels will be done by the time he's there."

and, another player on KO’s radar. His coach shares a conversation with KO in which he sheds light on the possible NCAA sanctions.

http://fultonfalcons.blogspot.com/

“He said they’re probably facing probation and losing some scholarships”

KO, starting out of the gate like a bolt of lighting. And, perhaps moderate NCAA sanctions are the worst case scenario? Fight on, KO!!!

Kevin O'Neill seems swift and fast at getting new players

It seems he is getting players that he can coach, not the 4 & 5 star pre-madonnas out there.

Exciting News

for beaten down Trojan hoopsters, but 2011 is a long ways off. If we weren’t so starved for good news right now, I would say that a verbal commitment 2 years out is worthless. However, given the current state, it is priceless…..for fans and recruiting. KO is getting some good buzz and mojo going again. No telling how this could pay off with 2010 recruits, and perhaps even 2009 recruits.

no if you go to the so-called recruiting sites he is not rated

you bruins can have all the micky dees dudes because they all suck the little one (a westwood trait) and we will take the dudes who aren’t affraid on the dark.

Why do you think I am miss spelling so much

Since the Tour is going on I have been putting in a lot of miles, so the butt is just not reacting as usual. But I still don’t like one and done and 5 star players!

UCLA bound?

Scout doesn’t have UCLA as having offered. But a quick read of his bio looks impressive. Nice get for SC

Maybe there was a UCLA offer in the future. Loquito, does you has a link on the UCLA bound part?

Excuse my enthusiasm Pablito and dj89

Of course there is no offer from UCLA, but it’s well known that Big Ben was interested in this kid and vice versa. I’m not going to get all delusional on you, it’s just a bit of good news at a time when none was expected. That said, it’s very early and he could end up backing out of his commitment and going to… well, you know. Anyways, wish us luck.

UCLA was looking at him

but he had no offer from us…concur with impaulv, good get for USC. Not exactly a steal from the Bruins, though.
