If we can't laugh at ourselves, how can we laugh? Mike Penner's "Totally Random" (6.26.2009- bottom entry) has quoted this, from Brad Dickson of the Omaha World-Herald- on the allure of golf's US Open: "The field is a combination of pros and amateurs. Sort of like the USC basketball roster."
