Good News!

For a change. Yeah, the doom & gloomers and anti-McNeill crowd are a bit out of control. The guy can coach, so I am going to give him a chance.

I've yet to google Coach Kev, however. . . .

. . . reading the cool post of O’Neill’s stint at Tennessee was a welcome read!

I must admit, I’ve hardly taken in Trojan basketball games over the past couple of years. I’ve been to, like- no more than 6 or 7 since 2006. With this past season’s conference tournament win and Laughing Stock’s in-season write-ups- it kinda got my juices flowing for the guys this year. (not to mention the Mayo/Floyd issues of these past two post-seasons!) In saying that, I’ve carried a bit of an indifference towards the hiring of our new basketball coach, as it is- Mike Garrett hasn’t exactly been the type of leader one would expect as our Athletic Director. I wasn’t against Reggie Theus, and I wouldn’t have any qualms with Robinson or Gillespie- and to that end, I wasn’t holding out hope that Jamie Dixon would be our guy. I was thoroughly against PJ Carlisemo, and that was about it. Jim Cleamons or Brian Shaw would have been, “meh” for me, but whatever. Like I’ve said, with Mike Garrett leading the search- I wasn’t about to get my chonies in a wad over this situation.

To me, if someone is brave enough to wade through the labyrinth of anxious trepidation and intrigue surrounding Trojan athletics and the impending NCAA rulings as to our “lack of institutional control” investigation- give that man “God bless you kind sir” and keys to the Galen Center. I was a bit “invested” in Garrett’s handling of a number of these would-be hires, geeze-Louise that man vexes me so!

I’m now warming up to Coach Kev. With what was written over at Rocky Top Talk- I have newfound hope for him leading our program and giving our team the best chance to compete next year. If he’s as good as advertised, my worries will be tempered as far as recruiting and having a “clean program”- as far as abiding by NCAA rules of conduct and competition are concerned.

Go get ’em Coach!

Nico to Todd: "Shouldn't you be off voguing somewhere?"

Well lets give him a chance at least he knows Basketball and is tough!

I think we will get D. Williams back and maybe MO MO, it looks like Frankland has chicken out what a typical MD pussy.
