USC Finally issues a statement on the ongoing investigations

Nothing much to it. I mean, I doubt they could have said more, and equally they couldn’t have said much less. “We are actually paying attention and we’re not jumping off the ledge unless it really really looks like we might get pushed.”

About all they could have said, I suspect.

Now. . . . . .about journalistic integrity? What the public needs from print and web-based media is, more substance and dialog- less opinion and perception. The citizenry has numerous and divergent view of topical perceptions, we get ‘em as soon as we awake and form new ones based on experiences throughout the day. What we are lacking and what is needed is substantive evidence and information on subject matter concerning the process, investigation, and names of person’s granting interviews or offering statements pertinent to the Bush and Mayo situations.

What have we been provided with lately? I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

Might I request dialogs of healing or the presentation of ideas of what to do next? Whether it’s regarding arming the NCAA with more “teeth to compliment it’s bark”? Or regarding possible organizational changes/revision of the employment/student conduct codes?

The recent shaming by Streeter and Plaschke has effectively been, all for naught. With this welcome statement from the principals at USC we have found out that THEY ARE ON TOP of these scandals and allegations and they ARE NOT operating with their heads in the sand. And just so you know, my intuition and expectations have always remained confident and steadfast- that they were doing things the right way and within the legal framework and rules of engagement.

Fight On!

I like that they at least fought back on the Lake and Johnson interviews. I don’t like that they didn’t publicly support their coach to save him and this wonderful ex-recruiting class. But, maybe they really found some dirt on Floyd and wanted him out? But, if they really found dirt, then why not just fire him much earlier and avoid the buyout and get a replacement in to save recruiting? Why wait until the NCAA investigation is complete to axe Floyd and watch your program (and University) get skewered publicly for 1-2 years?

I can only take away that they had nothing on Floyd, Floyd turned down Zona because he was innocent, and Garrett let him die at the hands of the media firing squad. Not really the “Trojan Family” concept.
