Who else is leaving for the NBA?
Wolf has an interesting story in the DN this morning.
USC coach Tim Floyd said Saturday the Trojans might lose two more players off next season's roster besides forward Taj Gibson, who sources said is expected to declare for the NBA draft but will not hire an agent.
The Trojans already lost starting guard Daniel Hackett, who signed with an agent, and starting forward DeMar DeRozan, who is expected to sign with an agent.
"We've probably got another couple guys (who could leave)," Floyd said. "Something may happen."
Floyd did not identify the players but said guard Dwight Lewis was not one of them.
I find it surprising that there are more players that could bolt for the NBA, but for the life of me I have no idea as to who on the team is ready. It will be interesting to see who else is on the mix.

WOLF this creep hasn't gotten it right to much
I feel Tim was talking about players who might transfer, I mean when you have so many players and refuse to use them what else one to do.

Hmmm...
If I had to guess I would say that Donte Smith may be looking t transferring (take a look at this article too), but I really can’t say who the other player leaving would be. I think it would be too bad if Smith left though, he had his moments where he showed off nice speed and strong handles, he just needed to put everything together on the court.
Lamont Jones visited campus this weekend and SC is supposed to be the favorite, and it also looks like USC may make a late push to sign Victor Rudd after the recent news of Solomon Hill switching his commitment to Arizona. The first day of the late period to sign with schools is this wednesday.

Transfers & Terminations
Yeah, I think Wolf probably meant potential transfers or players who may have their scholarship pulled and be asked to leave. I believe Simmons, Washington, and Vucevic are all safe and happy.
Kasey Cunningham has had 3 season ending knee injuries, including HS, but has shown great potential when healthy. Smith has shown nothing, but we need PGs. Diarra has shown nothing in 2 years period. My guess is that at least one of these 3 players will not be back. The Fox Sports transfer list makes me think Smith will be gone, especially if we sign MoMo Jones. I think that Coach likes Cunningham a lot, and Diarra is a bit of a mystery.
Assuming only Donte Smith transfers, Marcus Johnson regains eligibility, MoMo Jones signs, and Percy Miller goes non-scholarship, this is how I see the 2010 Trojans stacking up:
Dwight Lewis, Leonard Washington, Marcus Simmons, Kasey Cunningham, Nikola Vucevic, Mamadou Diarra, Mike Gerrity, Alex Stepheson, Renardo Sydney, Noel Johnson, Solomon Hill, Derrick Williams, Evan Smith, MoMo Jones (or Dominique O’Connor).
That’s 14 scholarships. Someone on the board mentioned that Marcus Johnson and Mike Gerrity could go non-scholarship and pay their own way. If not, Johnson might be ineligible. Or, one of the freshmen recruits might become an academic casualty. Or, Floyd may ask Evan Smith to walk-on for a year. Or, Floyd might boot Diarra to make room.
I never fully appreciated until this season how much being a college hoops coach in the one and done era is like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle year after year.
Oooops, Marcus Johnson was not included.....
in my list. So that list has 15 scholies, if Johnson is eligible. If that happens, I think Diarra may be asked to leave and Evan Smith may be asked to walk-on for the first year.
