Could this guy make us forget Hackett?
Lamont Jones?
Hola amigos, is my inaugural FanPost. Special greetings to my pal DFW.
From Rivals:
2009 prospect Lamont Jones has had a strong season for national power Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy. A physical scorer, Jones has successfully made the transition over the year into being a high level point guard. Once committed to Virginia Tech, it now looks like Jones will be running the point for a different program after decommitting from the Hokies this week.

Maybe Houdini Floyd has a few more tricks up his sleeve.

Welcome to CC!
Mo-Mo would be a great addition to SC.
Laughing Stock had a nice write up on Mo-Mo a couple of weeks ago.
Going to be a really different looking team next season…
Septimana Horribilis
Thanks for the kind welcome Doc, I saw the LS write up after I posted my comment and found more info there than anywhere else. I look forward to seeing your blog grow in the future, especially since the DN is probably headed towards extinction.
Anyway, this could turn out to be one of the worst weeks in USC basketball history. Someone on Rivals is reporting a news story out of Arizona that Solomon Hill will be going there. Good grief!
Well, at least our pal Desmo/Zoulou will be happy.

MoMo Mojo!
Welcome Loco! The 1.1 has me ROFL. Happy Easter. Interesting news on Solomon, but I hope it is just a rumor swirling in the Sean Miller tailwinds? Bring on MoMo!!! Donte Smith to transfer? Signing day is April 15!

Hill May Be Gone
Wow, per Rivals, Loco nailed it. I read that Hill liked SC because he wanted to play some PG, and Floyd wanted to let him play some PG. I guess now that we have Gerrity and perhaps MoMo (knock on wood), tight scholarships, and no guaranteed starting position for Hill his first year, then Arizona makes some sense. At small forward, Hill will be competing with Noel Johnson, Marcus Simmons, and maybe Marcus Johnson for a starting spot. At UoA, Hill is virtually guaranteed a starting spot.
Kids these days. It’s all about playing time and getting to the Association. Honestly, Hill will not be a big loss due to the aforementioned players who can play SF. MoMo is critical.
This might not be a bad thing
the kid wants to be in AZ then we wish him luck…he has been all over the map in regards to his recruitment and AZ has their own NCAA issues so its a matter of the frying pan or the fire.
Hey Locoweed 1.1!
I’ve read, with amusement and agreement, many of your comments over at Wolf’s blog. Good stuff my man! Welcome to Conquest Chronicles. DFW is definitely a good buddy of ours here at CC as well.
Any friend of DFW is a friend of ours!
Man, now if only the Trojan basketball team can just get “out” of the news. At least, back in the news with something of major good news. Like. . . . .10K new season ticket holders? That would be nice!
Fight On Locoweed!
Fight On Coach Floyd!
Fight On! (just fight on)
Comer4tide to Nico2.0: "How come I've never heard of any of your random songs?"
Todd to Comer: "Because if you had, he wouldn't listen to it. BOOM. Roasted."
Nico to Todd: "Shouldn't you be off voguing somewhere?"
I mentioned my thoughts on Jones in another thread
but in short, he won’t make you forget Hackett. Jones can be a good player, but not in year one. He’s just not a guy who will step in and make a major contribution as a freshman. He’d be a good get because in the future he can be a player and worst case scenario, he provides good depth int he future, but he’s not a guy for next year who will make you forget Hackett.
