Demar DeRozan Highlights

When the commentator yells, “Straight Outta Compton!” on DeMar’s solo fast-break dunk, it was just friggin massive! And then DD does a little “mini-Shaq” ape-walk to finish it. (that could have been a flagrant for taunting. . .glad it wasn’t) Those two-free throws with a minute left in the game- although the game wasn’t super close- it still indicates to me that DeMar is finally coming into his own and he’s finding groove as he has a better understanding of his role and expectation. For a freshman, that’s pretty heady evolution. Not ALL elite freshman get close to this type of understanding college bball. I’m not saying DeMar is even close to reaching his college ball potential, but for a freshman to be performing so well and contributing on both sides of the ball within the college ball team concept- that’s pretty exceptional.

His post-season performances (and games to still play) will more than likely be an impetus for him to go pro, rather than remain at USC. Even if USC doesn’t win anymore remaining games- his contribution to our program is undeniable. He’ll leave with history documenting he helped to make champions of the graduating seniors and has given Coach Floyd that elusive accolade which has been missing since he became our coach in 2005.

That’s more than paid dividends to our program. It’s given fans and alumni a sense of pride in the basketball not felt in a long while. In my view of it, that’s priceless.

For the record, I hope DeMar DeRozan stays at USC. He can stay as long as he wants. I’m sure The Galen Center wants him to stay too. (it needs him)

I here before pac-10 tourney that Demar was staying, but if he goes good luck he better count his lucky charms. Hey want ever happen to smelly Roton, must be to tied up at his works reception desk, come just answer the phones it can’t be that hard. Oh I forgot a uuucccllllaaa grad like my cousin the telephone co. employee.
