Pete Carroll to be honored for his communty work

From Ted Miller at ESPN...

USC School of Social Work will present coach Pete Carroll with its "Crystal Heart," the school's highest honor, at "A Celebration of the Heart," a scholarship gala on March 8 at USC Town & Gown.

The event honors individual contributions to social work practice and research in the community and throughout the world. Carroll is the founder of A Better L.A., a community outreach charity.

Proceeds from the evening will establish the "Pete Carroll Scholarship" for students pursuing graduate study at the USC School of Social Work.

Congrats Coach!

glad to see it's feeding back into the college

By which I mean, it’s good that in the midst of all the other accolades, someone (or a group of someones) thought to start a scholarship so that the university is helping to train people for a kind of work that doesn’t pay a great deal but can have a good deal of impact.
