Looks like Florida will lose Charlie Strong...
From SBN's always awesome Card Chronicle...
Again, I haven't been told by anyone why it's being held, but as of right now U of L has absolutely scheduled a press conference for 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Brown & Williamson Club.
When asked about these three facts, respectively, a source close to the Louisville football program responded: "yep," "uh-huh" and "yep." When asked if the questioner would be correct in assuming that the respondent would not be able to confirm the rationale behind calling the press conference, the respondent had the following to say: "yep."
See, that right there, that's how I got here, people. That's how I afford cordless phones.
In all seriousness, I'm excited...until this turns out to be for the unveiling of the 2011 softball schedule.
UPDATE: Official: U of L athletic personnel committee to meet tomorrow at 3:30
Just waiting for the OK to launch the pun assault.
C-J:
<!--Saxotech Paragraph Count: 2<br>-->The University of Louisville has announced that the Personnel Committee of the U of L Athletic Association Board of Directors will meet to discuss personnel matters at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
The school is seeking a replacement for football Steve Kragthorpe. Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong is considered to be athletic director Tom Jurich’s top target.
I normally would not give this much of a thought but it just goes to show that the "top" programs lose good coaches to try and catch their own lightning in a bottle. Anybody want to lay odd on how UF does next year with losing Tebow, Strong and a good portion of that defense?
It happened to USC. It will now happen to Florida...
Welcome to the real world!

The only reason they did not lose Strong in the last several years
was the administrations in the Southern part of the US are scared of a prominant black man with a blonde wife.

Steppin' out. . . .?
Let’s just hope it isn’t some sorta epidemic, brothas with the blonde wives- that is. (on a lighter note. . . .Tiger don’t shag cougars! That’s just straight pimp!)

It was ridiculous
how long Strong was stuck in a coordinator role. Going to be very interested to see what Louisville looks like in the next couple years.

Ummm, who cares about Florida
Most overrated team of the decade.

You miss the point...
They may be overrated in your eyes but Meyer is losing one the main pieces to his puzzle…he will have a tough time replacing that…just like PC. Top programs lose good coaches and it isn’t alway easy to replace it…

Teboner, gone
Spikes may go too? Don’t know on that one. But- Para’s right. We were denied being measured against Meyer/Teboner teams. Last year’s team was by far the better of the two, Florida laid a righteous egg.
What could have been?

Ah, ok, it will be interesting to watch...
from that angle. Urban is an offensive guy. Does he promote his DC from w/in and try to take more control on that side of the ball, or go out and find the best defensive mind externally that he can.
