The SAT is out of 2000 now I think

that’s like an 800 for us oldsters. All the talk of superior standards is bunk. From ND and Stanford its one thing — as much as it pains me — they do have a good academic record for graduating athletes (Like 96% or something). From UCLA its just laughable.

Nope, the SAT contains THREE sections

each section is 800 points. He’s SEC material.

Just so you guys know

In most SAT reports for major recruits, they still do not count the ‘writing’ portion of the SAT.

Most major schools actually continue to omit that number from their ‘average SAT’ number, for both athletes and non-athletes. USC is one of the few schools I’m aware of that actually includes the ‘composite score’ (Math/Verbal/Writing) as part of their averages.

So, I’m sure the reported number is for the two traditional sections (Math/Verbal).

look a little closer...

There’s a great article out there, that I have linked to before and it shows UCLA and San Diego St, lead the nation in SPECIAL ADMITS for their athletes.

71% of their athletes get admitting this way!

more important there is this…

Richardson reports a 2.8 core GPA and a 1000 SAT, which he plans to retake.

Well, if 1000 is such a good score (regardless of whether it is based on 1600 or 2400) then why the need to retake it?

Full disclosure (sheepishly)…I never went to college and I never took the SAT, so I probably have no credibility, but I had two kids that did and I have never seen such an incredible amount of time preparing for a test just to get into a good school.

My hats off to you guys who went through it…you are better than me.

Anyway, it gave me a chuckle, all this crap about ucla being superior in academics goes right out the window with that statement above….

yeah, not a very good number…

but oh well. I’m sure that if you looked at every school’s admits they have similiar numbers.

SATs are easy-sauce. It’s be interesting to see team GPAs for the entire PAC-10. Stanford at top?

I know Bob from Boise feels that Ucla players are a lot smarter than everyone else.

To be going around bragging about how smart one is really shows how smart they aren’t.
