Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

"Last year in the Rose Bowl, the officials told us at halftime if we continue to celebrate as much on the sidelines they were going to call a 15-yard penalty on us," Carroll said. "And I blew it because I wanted to make them call that penalty.

"I wish we would have done it so they would have called the penalty on us, so we could have gotten penalized for having too much fun. Because I don't understand that."

Pete Carroll

Now, how funny would that have been!!

I guess it is coming to the point in Ncaa or Pac-10 FB you have to make out a request form to Celebrate.

In the last 5 years officials have gotten why out of control, it is time that after games they have go through the crowd before leaving.

28---7 2nd & 11 Barkley to Williams, so please Bru-Babes call time out again.

SEC officials...

Have to be the worst. I believe it was Georgia vs. LSU where a Georgia receiver was penalized for “drawing attention to himself” after scoring a touchdown (I’ll let that sink in for a minute)…. The penalty pretty much cost Georgia the game as it gave LSU a short field to come back and win.

We had a personal foul called after a sack when our DE flexed

Our guy flexed above his head. Thats a foul for 15 yards.

The Notre Dame LB flexed below his shoulders, and no foul was called.

So I guess its ok to flex, as long as its below your shoulders.

They should not call celebration penalties. They should only call it when its taunting another player. I don’t have a problem with that.

Exactly...

There’s nothing wrong with a kid getting excited about making a big play. It’s just when they do it to intentionally piss off another player or try to start conflict that they should be flagged.

I'm with PC on this one

Ridiculous and inconsistent rule enforcement. I think this rule was created for Miami during their convict championship years. I can understand not letting players do the Ickey shuffle after scoring. But, any celebration less than that should be allowed.

after the game they can have another choice of having to go out through Dextors Clean Room.

I would take the crowd, but you never know with pac-10 refs no common sense.
