Former Fordham guard Jio Fontan will be transferring to USC and be enrolling in the school this January. In turn, the junior will be eligible to suit up for the Trojans after the first semester next year, much like Mike Gerrity did this season. The addition of Fontan gives 'SC three quality point guards for the 2010-2011 season in Donte Smith and incoming freshman Maurice Jones.

I have yet to see Fontan play but...

from what I have heard, he has been the best player for Fordham since his true freshman season and has performed pretty well. The Atlantic 10 conference isn’t a whole lot worse than the Pac-10, especially this year, so I anticipate the Brooklyn native to make some sort of positive impact on the team a year from now.

I can’t speak for his number, I’m just going by what I’ve heard from those who have followed him the past few years and Fordham and they all say he should give us a lift.

Legit PacX talent, YES!

A-10 is a very good conference. Some could argue better than the PacX. Xavier, Temple, St Joe’s, George Washington, Dayton, the A-10 is very tough and solid. And, Jio was arguable the best PG in conference. He was also a top 20 PG in the nation coming out of high school.

And, I trust KO’s talent evaluation. Jio will be our starting PG next season when eligible and do well in the PacX.
