Two bruins academically ineligible, Hasiak done at ucla...
This is just what I needed to cap off a crappy day!
I got a kick out of this...
UCLA sophomore center Kai Maiava and freshman wide receiver Morrell Presley are academically ineligible for the EagleBank Bowl.
Jake Dean will start at center for the Bruins, with Nick Ekbatani sliding to right guard.
It is a huge bowl for the offensive line, which faces the No. 19 rush defense in the country in the Temple Owls.
Obviously we have our own issues with three knuckleheads of our own not hitting the books...but for the life of me I don't remember anyone on this site ever claiming how superior our academic standards are.
Neuheisel's teams have always been soft and this is evidence of it...just like condoning (wink wink) "going over the wall" when the team so desperately needs the practice.
This is why I am not worried, regardless of how many recruits he picks off from SC they never perform under his coaching.
Heck, even Nestor is wondering if Neuheisel has what it takes to be ucla's coach...
And that is saying something!!

In other news...
UCLA offensive lineman Stanley Hasiak has been sent home to Hawaii for personal reasons and is not likely to return, according to a source in the Bruins’ football program.
Hasiak, a freshman, was one of the top recruits in the Bruins’ 2009 recruiting class. UCLA Coach Rick Neuheisel would not comment on the situation.
He was ranked fourth nationally as a guard by Rivals.com and was also recruited by USC, California, Michigan and Oregon, among others.
Hasiak, who is 6 feet 5, 318-pounds, has had trouble adjusting since coming to UCLA. He has had a series of confrontations with teammates during practices. He also has had a handful of off-the-field incidents, according to sources familiar with the program, including screaming at doctors and nurses while waiting for an X-ray at a hospital.
I know we discussed this earlier this season, but I thought he made the turn. Man I hope this kid gets it all worked out...

If I was a Bruin fan?
I’d be shittin major bricks at the thought of going back to Philadelphia, again? And, just like the last time, be considered the favorite of a major match? And if, to lose? fUcla could – AGAIN – become irrelevant in, yet again, a major sport, in the Pac-10 conference.
“Wildcats smoke bRuins, in more ways than One”
“This time, Owls wipe THEIR ass with bruin-fur”
Philadelphians like you guys, because you’re pretty much easy to hate. So, if I have the misfortune of actually viewing your bowl game? I’ll have to go to a borrowed happy-place and try to succomb to the reality that- statistically? Someone has to be you.

Yep, you betcha pardner!
I hear their fans are just like their players: tireless!
With that said, hombre- you can be sure there’s room. Without tires, that wagon and it’s merry band are always stuck somewhere? So, whenever you see ‘em, in or around a town near you? Jump the heck on, hell yeah! You don’t even need cattle OR a big hat. Boots might help? (for traction, ya feel me?)
Yippee kai-yay cowpoke!

Huge hit for UCLA
Hasiak and X-man were the cornerstones for Rick rebuilding their O-line. It will be 2012 before they can build the depth required to move into the top third of the Pac10. Rick might be looking at a pink slip season by then.

Every Bowl Team will have Academic Casualties
Yet, only USC and MAYBE a few other powers, have their academic casualties listed as a headline on ESPN. The magnifying glass has not dimmed a bit with an 8-4 season. On a lighter note, I just discovered that Kai and Kaluka are brothers. Talented family.

THat really is to bad for Stan Hasiak I hope wiht the help of his family he fined his path in life.
Sometimes you just got to stay around the people that put you and support you and things will take care of themselves.

Nestor should question Harry Reid
and his leadership, and let Rick figure it out for the next couple of years… It’s just his second year

Agreed...
Especially given the way RN was trumpeted as some kind of savior when he was hired.

What the?
Goodness gracious, mercy me! It’s bad enough that the old/new/getting-old again Coach of LA copies (part and parcel) all of Coach Carroll’s football philosophy- I mean c’mon! Slick Dick has even has a few of our ex-Assistant Coaches on his staff to see to it that PC’s way-or-the-highway gets properly implemented!
But does the fUcla AD have to also copy Garrett in hiring parameters as well? On second thought, I say- “Go right ahead DGuerrero!” No way, no how can you catch lightning in a bottle like we did with Coach Carroll. But maybe, just maybe- you’ll mess up just enough to also be in the same fan-displeasure as many Trojans are with Garrett that, in the not so distant future, you’re time will be up too! Since you’ve been installed as the hefe` in Wastewood, there’s been one too many championship victories on your watch- despite the fact that some of those NCAA trophies are in underwater basket weaving and snowman building. Wait, maybe it was in synchronized swimming and badminton . . . . .oh right. . . . .same difference.

fUCLA will get its Football National Title come hell or high water.
They’re lobbying the NCAA to authorize Girls Flag Football! And why not, Title IX Champions Made Here, er There!
