Around SBN: Chauncey Billups Injures Achilles Tendon

Not a bad start for Markazi with his new gig!

He pretty much nails it...

Markazi Counter

What happened? Markazi vs Me:

1) Player TurnoverPoor recruiting at need positions, poor player development/management. We had 10 returning starters on offense, including two groomed, 5 star QBs.
2) Coaching Turnover – Agree
3) Serious Injury – Agree
4) Lack of Depth Poor player development/management, poor schemes to make best use of our talent. How can you not be deep with top 5 recruiting classes year after year? You never have perfect depth everywhere, but we had depth everywhere except LB.
5) Much stronger PacXBad coaching. 1 top 15 team does not a great conference make. PacX is always tough. See conference losses since 2003. However, our coaching rivals badly outperformed us this season.

How to turn it around:
1) Rely on experienceImprove coaching. Update schemes to better use talent. Again, we already had 10 returning offensive starters this year.
2) Recruit like the old days – Agree. Must fill need positions, not lose key recruits.
3) Showcase playmakers – Agree. This means schemes must change.
4) Attack the softer scheduleImprove coaching. Attack the schedule? What does this even mean? We won our toughest OOC games this season, but lost two key PacX home games and one bad conference road loss. Complaining about the schedule is a cop out.
5) Rediscover the swaggerFind offensive explosion. Scoring points will bring the swagger back.
